Great video thank you for all the effort you put into it. This Rossi will be my next purchase. I’m a bit of a Rossi head. I already own the RP 63 as well as the M 68 in both 2 inch and 3 inch.

In regards to the Rossi grips being small I think it’s probably because it’s a South American company. For me having very small hands these are revolvers are just right.

Compare the Rossi and any Taurus, side-by-side. The difference in quality is HUGE. Buy the Rossi!!

Fell for the Rossi RP63. Jams up. Returned for warranty repair twice. Rossi determined gun unrepairable. Shipped new gun. After paying for yet another background check for the replacement gun i sold it as soon as i got it back. The Rossi line is an excellent gun for those who don't care if a gun functions or not.

Nice Video and complete, I like Rossi Hand Guns but have not seen them in any Local Gun Store. Medium Frame Revolvers are the Best, Thanks for the review......

I had a Rossi 971 VRC , it was a sweet little.357, but I sold it to pay for my M1A. I really wish I’d have sold something else as I REALLY liked and miss that gun .
@Darrick-r2v5 күн бұрын
I never knew the manual told you how to shoot the gun. Do all manufacturers do that? Also does it take full on .357 or does it warn against using .357 all the time?
@DaGunGuy4 күн бұрын
It’s hit or miss. Pun intended. Some manuals will tell you what the recommended hold is for a specific gun and on others, you just kind of need to figure it out.

I found some old papers im guessing belonged to grandad. Guns were dirt cheap. 40 bucks. Could be ordered and sent directly to house from a newspaper. Crazy how times change.

I have a Question about the Rossi Revolvers. Does that firing pin sit directly on the bullet ? Does it have a firing pin block ?
@DaGunGuy10 күн бұрын
It uses a hammer block to prevent the firing pin from sitting on the cartridge unless the trigger is pressed in. We talk about it in the drop safety section. 👍

So it appears to me, the Rossi is similar to a "K Frame" S&W, while the Taurus is more akin to an "L Frame" S&W.
@DaGunGuy9 күн бұрын
That's probably a fair way to say it even thought the Taurus 66 is really a SW 66 clone - which, I think, would make it a K frame BUT as fair as relation to overall size - yes.

357 is the ultimate self defense handgun cartridge…..until you shoot one inside with no hearing protection!?! 😳🤦🏻♂️😅 Have you ever done it? I have, man my ears rang for days and I thought i may had caused permanent hearing damage. Luckily I hadn’t. 😮💨
@DaGunGuy9 күн бұрын
I have not BUT a good friend of mine did and he did lose some hearing. Glad you didn't. Shooting without eyes and ears, inside, in a self-defense situation is not gonna be fun for anyone involved.

Sorry, just me, but I’m not comfortable with a hammer mounted firing pin especially a replaceable one? Gotta be a reason most other major manufacturers use an internal one.
@youknow909212 күн бұрын
Internal firing pins are relatively new. Smith & Wesson used the same exact design being a replaceable hammer mounted firing pin on their revolvers until 1997.
@user-qg5ki5lg6s12 күн бұрын

@youknow909212 күн бұрын
@@user-qg5ki5lg6s so for 143 years revolvers that used metallic cartridges used hammer mounted firing pins, and you find them uncomfortable because a different design has been out for 27 years?
@1nfamyX9 күн бұрын
Yeah there is a reason, same reason revolvers had an internal lock from the clinton era. Its not a just reason.
@robwilson37499 күн бұрын
All it is are two separate ways to achieve the same goal as far as making these guns unable to discharge unless the trigger is pulled. Both styles are old, storied methods that have been in use for decades and decades preventing unintended discharges. And as far as replaceable pins are concerned, transfer bar initiated pins fail as well. They wear down and break just like any other pin used for repeated strikes. Hammer mounted versus trigger bar mechanisms... What's old is new again. Six to one half dozen the other. Same difference. More than one way to skin a cat and all that.
@jeffanon177210 күн бұрын
With so many quality used S&W's available I see no reason to drop down to lesser brands like Rossi or Taurus...
@DaGunGuy6 күн бұрын
I don’t necessarily agree with your supposition that Smith is a superior quality firearm. At least, not those made in the last several years.
