Gy Hh you clearly dumb so I’d watch out where u comment. Somali pirates take people for ransom, kill, and go in guns blazing. These people just want what’s on the boat... Somali pirates often get killed because they are seen as aggressors who kill civilians, unlike the asians pirates.

For the price of insurance each ship should be able to afford a security guard to sit on the stern with a shotgun. If these huge ships are being raided and ransomed by this stone-age technology then the shipping companies are in on it.

In the 90's I was on a small boat heading to a small Indonesian island. The boat got boarded during the night. There were 4 x Swedish ex soldiers on board who were all 6 foot plus and big guys, that walked right up to the pirates and just stood in front of them. The pirates weighed up the situation and left. Not sure what would have happened if things had been different.
