@Twenty_Six_Hundred5 ай бұрын
Either an extremely happy dyno or false reading which is what im leaning towards
@frogsta3605 ай бұрын
@@Twenty_Six_Hundred Agreed, it's weird because on the graph you can clearly see it should be about 950nm. When I also do the math the torque is way off but I must be using some values in the wrong way I'm guessing. Not too sure tbh as LSA dyno roughly 750nm according to the internets
@mrnicktoyou5 ай бұрын
It's not making 1100nm of torque, it's just a figure that the dyno gives but it's not a measurement of torque at the crank. The real figure is probably half that.
@ESISTTIGER5 ай бұрын
Its not at the crank Gears are torque multipliers Except for the 1 to 1 gear But the diff gears are still a torque multiplying gears You will always have more torque at the wheels than at the crank
@Dan-rg7jj5 ай бұрын
This is going to be very very basic and there's more too it, but the 2xx/2xx numbers are to do with the intake and exhaust valves. The first number is the intake and the lower the number the more the power will come on sooner. The higher the number on the exhaust valve the longer the power will stay on. So a 234 intake will be sloppy untill like 4000+ rpm. A 200 intake will be good at 2000rpm. A 241 exhaust will make it spin to 6800 rpm. A 220 exhuast will make it spin to 6000 rpm and a 200 exhaust will make it spin to like 5000rpm ish. The last number is the LSA 113. That determinds how much lope the cam has. The lower the number the more lumpy it will be. 108 is lumpy as F. 120 is smooth like a lot of stock cams. A lower number also means toqure is made lower too. You should watch Richard Holdeners LS videos. You can learn a lot about cams there. One thing I noticed here besides the 1100rwnm toqure figure. I'll let someone else rant about that. Is that it is a big cam for a 5.7l and on paper it kept making power way out. They didn't tune the box so it shifts at 6800 rpm. It appeared to shift at 5600rpm where the stock LS1 shifts and cam stopped making power. Strange🤨
@trixnhoez29645 ай бұрын
When I had my cam done I asked the tuner what the torque figure was since I only seen kilowatts on the dynosheet and he just shrugged his shoulders and said with a high stall torque converter it'll give an inflated number so he doesn't normally pay too much attention.. or that was my understanding of it at least.
@Dan-rg7jj5 ай бұрын
@@trixnhoez2964 thats pretty bad service not being able to give an even close to acc figure plus not adjusting the shift rpms. A 231/249 113 or something on a 6.0l made 490 foot pounds or 660 nm from a test I watched on an engine dyno. Run with no accesories and good heads I think. A wheel figure would be less on a dyno then 660 nm. Anyway cams don't make that much more torque then standard. Like 30 - 70 nm depending on the spec at best and it's usually up top. Sure it helps. It's just not that much.

Hey Ross; there is a misunderstanding in this video surrounding the torque figures listed in the dyno test. The value you're seeing on the test of 1,101.7 Nm is actually the tractive torque; the torque that is measured directly at the wheels on a dyno. This torque value can be significantly higher than the engine torque value due to the various multiplication effects from the car's gearbox, differential ratio, and tyre size. The likely engine torque on this car probably ranges around 560-600 Nm or so 🐴🐴 I thought my old 3.89 diff geared VT 5L made 1,400Nm due to the dyno sheet, until my TAFE lecturer told me the differences between engine and tractive torque 🎇🎇
