Thank you, I knew when there was several timing specifications the old school basic approach would be correct.

Glad you liked it! Sometimes we’ve got to get back to basics to get the correct answer.

What about Nippon Denso. With the stator pickup behind flywheel. You need to move stator to set timing. I figured you would need to use a timing light? Thx.

Thanks for your comment. The Nippon Denso is fitted to very old engines, if I have one in the shop I’ll definitely do a video.

Are the gap always at 20 thousand.
@RotacRepair28 күн бұрын
Thanks for your question. As you’ve seen, I use .020 inches. The gap specifications is .020 plus or minus .002 inches or 018 to .022 inches. The wider the gap the less voltage the trigger produces. Too wide and the coil receives a weak signal.

@@RotacRepairthanks , I’m presently rebuilding a 503 that was in an Alpine snowmobile that we use for grooming ski trails for a small private club, I’m do it pro bono,lol. Your videos are helping me a lot ,not a lot of people around my neck of the woods( N.B. Canada)I can go to for info. I’m pretty impressed with these engines .Ive owned and worked on lots of engines but didn’t realize how well these are built, I love the centre seal set up and that video was great, in fact all your videos are excellent.
