Follow along as I assemble the RAVE valves. I’ll be cutting new gaskets by hand, replacing the tie strap clamps with spring clamps on the new bellows.

Rotax Rick. Some tips. The engine main seals have a spring on them, they work perfect on the bellows. The gaskets are the same on the 583, 670, 617 for the gasket for the Rave to cylinder connection. You can use the steel 617 rave valves. I seen the steel stem pull out of the aluminum 618 Rave valve. The light weight aluminum Rave valves were used on the 618 so the bellows got enough pressure to open the Rave valves at high altitude. They had a cable to manually open the Rave valves at 10,000 feet & above.
