He certainly does , he loves his Magni , it’s a nice machine

what was the price of M24 when new (if you got it new), please? the previous version of 2010 wasn't so good; and why do you have it registered in the UK when you're in Australia?
@michaelhille261 Жыл бұрын
They are about $200k roughly. This one is definitely registered in AU so the UK one may be a duplicate
@djski97574 жыл бұрын
At 7:29 you show a compartment door on passenger side, was that factory installed? Magni doesn't show this as an optional install.
@michaelhille2614 жыл бұрын
this was done as a modification during the first service , it was a great idea for more room 👍🏻

Really informative video! Best I have seen on the Magnigyro M24. Nice to see they have the Rotax 915iS in it. It must just scream! The greatest selling point of gyros is they cannot be stalled. They will simple start a very docile, gradual descent. In fact, one can practice their engine off procedures on essentially every landing. It is the same for as a short field landing. They have very short take off in calm wind and virtually land in their footprint. Because of the heavy wing load (about that of a 747) they are very smooth to fly in during turbulent air. And since they have the heavy wind load and short take off they love windy days, which fixed aircraft hate. You simply point them into the wind, let the rotor spin up (or spin it up with the autorotator) and nearly vertically take off. Thanks for the video!

Very well said ! I am super impressed with the Magni it’s a very nice machine. Thanks for the input 👍🏻

I am hoping to get a new business launched and I am checking into training. If I can get this launched I want to buy a Sea Rey but I have been looking at these gyros and they really interest me. The draw back is the storage. I need something I can put in tools and gear in for emergencies
@manofsan4 жыл бұрын
That tail seems very low, though - ever have issues with scraping it on the ground during takeoff?
@michaelhille2614 жыл бұрын
manofsan the tail has a little wheel under it to allow for tail drag so yes it does often drag 👍🏻

I never understood why they don't make them with jump capability like the old Carters.

I hear they are very well suited for x country. If so, do they have much luggage capacity.
@michaelhille2614 жыл бұрын
They are suited to cross country, luggage is good for a gyro , if you notice Colin added a door to the other side behind the seats for some additional room and works well
@alienxyt4 жыл бұрын
Looks pretty. They couldn't find a way to hide that air intake!?
@michaelhille2614 жыл бұрын
Yes agree it would be nice to hide it but there is no room left under the cowl .

Colin, What is the costing of such an equipped Magni Gyro? Canadian viewer
@michaelhille2614 жыл бұрын
Your best bet would be to contact a local dealer as exchange rates have changed However he paid $220k AU

Love these aircraft. Can you comment on some of the downsides I've heard like the lack of cockpit adjustable roll trim, the heavy stick feel, and the way the stick rises and falls when doing turns?
@michaelhille2614 жыл бұрын
The M24 has a manual roll adjustment mechanism on the mast. The heavy stick feel can be adjusted but it’s great for 1 min turns and vibration absorbent tool that’s clamped to the longitudinal rods - the stick rise is awesome for getting in and out and it has no bearing on discomfort once in flight.

An often overlooked attribute is the ground handling stability designed into the gear. Its handles very well. Its not the roomiest gyro out there but seating is staggered slightly so pilot sits a little ahead of passenger which helps tremendously. The "heavy" stick isn't really heavy or hard to manage but is designed to provide better feedback so the pilot can better associate input effort with aircraft response. There are many more things about the design that earns the Magni's reputation as being the most stable gyroplane on the market.
@guitarholio4 жыл бұрын
I'm curious to know what the other gyro was. The one with the undesirable handling characteristics.
@michaelhille2614 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure myself he never mentioned a name of another Gyro
