Most of the Tidy Track products are compatible with Marklin HO 3-rail track. However, the third rail (center rail) will have to be cleaned separately/manually, because it sets below the height of the outer rails and the cleaning pads cannot reach it. We suggest using the Rail Pal (TT4575) to clean the third rail.

We have not tested OO locomotives on the HO Roto Wheel Cleaner. However, these engines run on HO track, so we believe it should work just fine.

I got mine in...N scale...the other day and it's pretty sweet. It's also good for diagnosing pickup issues with steam locomotives, as you can put just the tender on this thing and see if the locomotive still powers up. I do wish I could remove one of the end caps, though, because my Bachmann DD40AX, my Con Cor 2-8-8-2, and my Con Cor 4-8-4 don't fit onto it at all.

Any tips for steam locomotives with wires connecting engine and tender? I have one locomotive with the wires permanently attached to the tender, and I want to be able to use this without breaking the wires.

When turned on, the power causes the wheels to turn, causing the wheels to rotate on the cleaning pad. When you move the rolling stock back and forth, this helps to ensure the wheel is cleaned even more.

So, I have one for N scale.. but what I am wondering, since the loco is driving ON tracks, doesn't the Tidy Track wear the wheels too much because of the scraping? Only the sides are being cleaned, but the bottom of the wheels are scraping the metal, isn't it? (sorry for my English lol I'm not English/American)

Hello! No, the Roto Wheel Cleaner doesn’t scrape the wheels because the train is running on the soft brass pickup rails of the Roto Wheel Cleaner. The train floats because the rail is spring-loaded. As for what is being cleaned, the bottom is also being cleaned along with the sides. All of the area that rides on the tracks is being cleaned. Happy modeling!

Does it clean the entire surface of the wheel where it contacts the rail? It looks from the video as if it just gets the outside edge of the wheel since it has to be in contact with the rail.

Hi Jeffrey! The Roto Wheel Cleaner does clean the entire wheel. The top of the wheel flange comes in contact with the brass rail of the Roto Wheel Cleaner. This allows the entire wheel tread to make contact with the Cleaning Pads, not just the edge.

all I see is that only the inside of the wheels are getting cleaned, I do not see that the flanges, the areas that make contact with the rails are not being cleaned which makes this device worthless, all it does it slows down the models if installed on a layout

+Dick Looijen I am sorry Dick, but The Roto Wheel Cleaner was not designed for use with Marklin. Marklin is a uniquely powered 3-rail system, and the Roto Wheel Cleaner was designed to work with a standard two-rail system. Thank you for your interest.
