Rotopax are the best way to bring fuel with you on your rig in the most un-obtrusive way. Rotopax are durable, built with quality materials, and make bringing the extra bit of fuel (or piece of mind as I like to say) extremely simple and easy! Whether you are mounting and hauling Fuel Packs or Water Packs, take your fluids with you on any adventure.
With a little bit of effort, you can mount your Rotopax virtually anywhere that is safe and supportive so they are out of the way or extremely convenient. The packs are made with high quality materials and are durable so they withstand anything you may throw their way. Rotopax’s unique molding technique exceeds the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and CARB (California Air and Research Board) requirements (Source: www.rotopax.com).
The Anodized Aluminum Lox Pack mounts are the perfect way to mount your Rotopax in a secure, durable, and sure way. You can lock your Rotopax so that wherever they are mounted; they must be removed with a key. This is such a beneficial feature if you are traveling a lot.
Being mounted on the back of our Adventure Bikes, our Rotopax have definitely been through a lot of harsh environments, especially on the back of Cally’s KTM 640 which vigorously shakes anything and everything that is attached to it. Not only has the exterior plastic held up to abuse from straps, sand, and times when we tip the bikes over, the nozzle/cap has never leaked.
Whether you’re looking to store water or pack in some fuel, Rotopax are the ultimate vehicle to get your fluids to where you’re going. Durable construction, sleek design, and the ability to mount and lock anywhere prove that they are the best fuel canister for your backcountry adventures. Be sure to look into the many sizes, mounting kits, and types of Rotopax that are offered by visiting the Rotopax website. Using our link supports us in that we get a small kickback from your Amazon purchase. Thanks for the support!

Just a thought... once you've loosened the top clamp enough to be able to rotate the lower part, just line both up with the mount and slide the can off. That way it is possible to remove the canister without having to completely unscrew the clamp.

I have the 1 gallon rotopax and I use it to hold gas oil 2 stroke mix for my gardening equipment. I'm a professional landscaper. This container is very good quality it can be tipped nose down for a long period of time and doesn't leak a drop. The container doesn't vent but ive gone a few days before with out venting it in 100 degree weather and the pressure inside wasn't really that much. Granted I do keep my container mostly in the shade. Nothing much is gonna puncture this can unless you hit it with an axe or shoot it. Its incredibly solid.

I ride an Indian ftr1200 and can only get alittle over 130 miles and want to take a trip on it but I’ve rode coast to coast and know out west some gas stations are far in between, this might be just what I need

since the height is the same, why you haven't chosen 1 x 2 gallon instead 2x 1 gallon?

I like having the options of the 1 gallon. And I can take one of them off and replace it with a 1 gallon water if I want to.

Hi, Great review. Do you know if there is a mounting plate available for purchase for the 2010 KTM 990 Adv stock rack? I'd like to run the same system you have there.... either 2x1 gal, or 1x2 gal.

If you have a rack on the bike you should be able to drill through it and mount the Rotopax to it.

Do you think you can cinch them down with cam straps or ratchet straps through the handles?

Yeah I don’t think that would be a problem.

I’ve seen some KTM subframes have cracked from top box weight. Do you think having 2 x 1.75 or 2 x 2 gal would be too much? I have an 1190 Adventure and want to carry 1 fuel and 1 water on my upcoming trip through Mongolia and Kazakhstan

These aren't too heavy for the back rack, then? Petrol weighs a lot.
@AdventureRig
@AdventureRig 6 жыл бұрын
The rack is something I made but I don't see them being too heavy for any rack. I also had a Mosko Moto bag on top of them and between all of it the weight is around 35#.

Safety spouts came about because they are safer. I think they are more dangerous. Thank you, greedy lawyers and stupid consumers. Getting a Rotax soon, and a different spout. Thanks AR.

Bittu Deb I don’t know if they make a rack for that bike but if not you’d have to fabricate some kind of rack for a mount.

That's a great question. I've actually never had a problem with it expanding. It's pretty thick plastic, much thicker than a normal gas can so that may help.
