@chaosjelly106 because no one deserves to be murdered. And he didn't force her to do any of the things she did, or even ask her to do them. He was a host, as Stephanie explains a lot of the things he said are things hosts, and hostesses (like she was) will say or imply to get people to come back. And most people understand that it's not real/it's part of the fantasy/transaction. It's been a few days since I watched the video, but I do think Phoenix expressed regret over the things she felt she had to do for him, as he didn't realize she was doing all of that, and if he did he would have handled things differently. It's why he asked for leniency for her. Regardless though, even you think think he had been a dick, he still didn't do anything to deserve getting stabbed and someone trying to kill him.

@neutralweird
@neutralweird 10 ай бұрын
could be that because theyre in the same business, she believes she wouldnt fall for such an obvious trap or atleast he wouldnt pull it on her and maybe he took advantage of that to milk what he can from her. With host clubs, some hosts are very personable and when you talk to them daily, its easy to forget this person is working. (Not trying to victim blame tho, no matter how much of a "tease" someone is, they dont deserve to be stabbed, dragged, almost killed, etc etc.) Maybe he made the interaction feel very intimate and/or she felt it was more than what it was. Perhaps at the start she knew what he was doing and she gave into the fantasy, she started liking him the more they talked, and then at some point she thinks they're past the host/client relationship. Esp if they act like they were dating or are even doing more intimate things that he doesnt do at work.

@@Panda_Rollthe managers are usually not able to bring in the money like the top hostesses, which is why they are the managers. The Hosts would often go to hostess clubs to recruit, mingle, and meet new potential customers. Hi Stephanie, Regarding the “Delivery Health” thing, you didnt mention it but prostitution in Japan is *technically* illegal. However, said law only criminalizes “penetration between male and female for an economic transaction”. If you think this is a loophole the size of Mount Fuji, you are right: prostitution-by-any-other-name flourishes in Japan, including the nondescriptively named “delivery health” (デリヘル), the sex workers are called “aestheticians” (エステ), and there are at least one recorded case of a lesbian sex work service that bills itself as totally not illegal because “there is no penetration”.

Honestly, when I read that he forgave her, I sneered. But after I heard about his life story, I sympathized and not actually surprised. He probably had a very low self-worth. Just toiling on and living is probably his most heartful wish. Not to mention, the psycho did 'give' him money that he couldn't possibly get without her. His sense of self-worth is very low, he's very humble and gets satisfied easily. You would never know just how humble a human's self-worth could be from his life experiences. I'm just glad he finds a silver lining to comfort himself and I hope he could hold onto that and find his own true happiness.

There could be many other reasons they are attracted to that type of person like trauma they suffered growing up. When you were talking about the use of daisuki and aishiteru I actually have some translation corrections if read this: so suki is actually the more commonly used among couples. Suki means to like and it’s basically a more casual way of saying that you like someone. Daisuki would actually be translated to “big like” if translated literally. However in contexts it’s used in relationships as a way of being like “I love you” (but in the sense that they’re in a more serious relationship). Aishiteru however is normally used between husband and wife when expressing love for each other. From what I can gather it’s basically like unconditional love. Again it’s only really used between husband and wife. I hope this comment was helpful- I’ve been studying Japanese for about 8 years now

The amount of men who glorify the yandere troupe, really puts on display that men have NO DAMN CLUE what women go through at the hands of men. So many stories of women being killed by possessive, obsessive, sick and selfish men who thought they had a right to take a life. A male "yandere" sounds like a terrifying nightmare to most women. If the roles were reversed and those men had to deal with the same fear women have to live with everyday, then not a single one of them would find this behaviour attractive.
@tyuty-ve4zb
@tyuty-ve4zb 10 ай бұрын
Regardless of gender, people can have attraction to twisted people, with different reasons. Remember there are women glorifying male perpetrators too, who have murdered women. Gender position has nothing to do with this. But it has more because of sickening reasons : 1. There are people who think twisted people are wild in bed 2. There are people who have this " I can fix them" mentality 3. There are people, young and old, who think criminals are cool. And these people are also twisted themselves.

Yes, it is actually way less harmful when the female is the chaser/aggressor rather than the other way round. If a man does what Yuka did, it is definitely an unforgivable crime, a story worth not any telling.

it warmed my heart knowing he survived. Part of me thinks that his forgiveness came partially from the social status of "having a yandere go after him". As dark as it sounds, he and his friends could have seen this as some sort of "male victory" and, thanks to her, not only his business had a major boost, but also his ego. In a way, he might feel like his almost-killer saved his life.

When I was working in Japan as a contractor, a group of us foreigners would bar hop on Fridays. There was one guy, barely in his 20s, who would always go into the same hostess club. It got to the point where he would leave birthday parties, work functions & his own friends to go to this club. I mean we would have to physically drag him out because he would not be convinced to leave. It was getting REALLY BAD. He was going there during the work week, sinking every paycheck into seeing this hostess. He really thought they were in love! The worst I personally saw, was when he didn't come back from vacation. We found him with a busted up face in a completely trashed hotel room, cans of chu-hais everywhere! Apparently, he had tried & failed to fight some guy, another customer, over this hostess, got thrown out & then had some drunken, Tasmanian devil temper tantrum in this hotel room. I don't know what happened to him after that, as I was already getting ready to come back to the states & we weren't that close to begin with. I hope he figured his stuff out tho, cuz he's a ticking time bomb if I've ever seen one.

This actually happens quite frequently. Lot more sociopaths out there than we think exists. A lot of them can’t separate fantasy from reality or won’t take no for an answer…and these types of host/hostess businesses are fueling and unknowingly catering to these psycho types all in the business of making money but with some potentially deadly consequences.

It's so good to hear the Phoenix fully recovered but I can't fathom how he could ever forgive her. Like especially with how terrifying those nightmares sound. That man is truly a saint and y'know what, he deserves every good thing coming at him forever. It's disgusting that Yuuka will be free soon even if she's banned from the red light district.
