Dudeee this is reminding me so much of my job: people who shop at Michael’s are so weird, sometimes in a good way (but sometimes not). Like there was this one time where someone asked if we had diapers (I have no idea if it was a prank or not), and there’s been at least a few people who get incredibly personally offended when the price is higher than they thought it would be.. Ma’am, YOU decided to buy it, and it’s not as if we’re a grocery store or something; it’s not the end of the world if you can’t buy your 10 saint patricks day wreaths lol. OH and the amount of people that think the teenage, tired cashier is going to personally sell their phone number for Michael’s Rewards to the government is going to send me up a wall.

@@rottika I once gave a lady a members-only discount even though she wasn’t a rewards member (bc she kept complaining about something not being on sale), and she pretty much accepted the discount, half-ignored me, and didn’t even say thank you 💀

Worked at Home Depot once. Had a crazy customer one time. I was the parking lot associate, and I was bringing carts inside, when I saw a customer approach. I said, “Good morning, Sir.” He just looked at me with a glazed, dead-eyed look, and then walked into the store. I thought nothing of it, and continued my work. About 10-20 minutes later, I was asked to help out at the paint desk, as the paint department had a lot of customers that day, one of the paint associates called out sick, and I was the only other person who knew how to work in that department. So I go to help out. A few minutes later, we hear a loud crash from outside (the paint desk at the location I worked at was close to the customer service desk). I jumped over the paint desk and ran to customer service to see what was going on. I look out the glass door, and it’s the guy from earlier. He’s screaming incoherently, and attempting to get his car door open. He eventually does, then pulls out a small flat screen tv and starts screaming and shaking it above his head. He then gets into his car, and speeds out of the parking lot, hitting a couple of cars in the process. I think he may have been on drugs.

oh my goodness, I love this art sooo much!!! I could tell some horror stories from my terrible experiences working for Walmart. The one I worked at most of the managers and assistants were jerks!!! My main boss was this older woman, we all called her, "the evil witch!" Was so delusional to the point that even when I showed her the sticker that a customer took off one item and put on another to make something $90 into $15, she looks at me and actually says, "customers don't lie, YOU are the liar!" I'm just standing there dumbfounded... she would write me up all the time just for following protocol! So glad I don't work there anymore, I wasted three years of my life there!

Walmart does not care if customers steal. In fact having a bit of loss helps Store Managers numbers look better. I worked the Customer Service booth for years, and people would literally return stuff they just barely took off the shelf and never paid for. Everyone knew that's what they were doing, but since they'd get store credit, Walmart did not care. You could absolutely get written up, for even suggesting a customer was being crooked.

Walmart was my first job as well and man it made me realize I hate working in retail. The best part of any day for me was going home. If I could piss a customer or two off when doing so that was just icing on the cake. Now I only did this when I worked the cigarette register, once the time came around for me to go home, depending on how many customers I had in my line, I'd shut my light off so I could leave at 11 pm. I wouldn't let anyone else in because I wanted to go home and honestly neither they nor the CSMs could do anything about that. I would always get 2 complaints when I did this. 1. "Where else are we supposed to go?" And 2. "How am I supposed to get cigarettes?" For the first one I would respond with the Self Scan, the only other place that was open and for the second question I would shrug and say "Gas station? Sorry." Yeah I was being a little bitch, but hey if it's time for me to go home, I'm going home. I will never work at another retail joint again. Customers are just too much for me, even if I can get back at the rude ones at times.
