I’ve seen a community that breaks apart because you have a different opinion or call someone out in an example of why they were leaving. I’m not even kidding. A man leaves a community with his last video being “it stresses me out to the point I need to rely on my medication to make videos. It’s also very toxic, this video someone made talking negatively about me is a good example of why, they just wanna pick me apart to belittle me and I’m sick of stuff like this” but somehow that gets turned into “I’m leaving because of this person” Bruh. Guy is Spoctor by the way, made a bunch of mental analysis videos that were pretty good but I think people somehow saw them as him defending these people instead of just analysing the behaviour of someone to see why they are the way they are. I think he’s also pretty big on mental health, ironic considering what the community did to his mental state

i know tip, infact i was one of her mutes (short for mutuals) on ovipets and i would follow her. i stopped helping her after i found out that she stole projects! but then tippy threatened me and called me a slur. i was very traumatized and i never played ovipets again.

When I was a kid I also played this game! And I remember this person actually! I was about ten or so, and so I had no idea what I was doing all I knew was that I wanted to breed pures on there and turn eggs. I had no idea that there was this entire thing behind the scenes. I actually remember asking this person out of curiosity how they could read if they were blind. I don’t actually remember what happened or what they said. However I was most definitely one of the people who bred with the projects back in the day, and I’m so sorry for that! Hopefully the game has changed since then and your mom doesn’t have these issues anymore. It’s a really interesting to look into something you half know about and to see the full story.

You wanna know what was a terrible experience i had in there? I had my art stolen in that site. None of the people involved stealing the art got any kind of punishment, only a warning. Said people were also heavily manipulative and were doing NSFW stuff in the site's Roleplay side despite the fact they're a minor. They also only got a warning for it despite it being a bannable offense. Giving a lot more context since it's necessary: I used to be a Co-Owner in a species group. I had made temporary bases for them to use (never gave them rights to the bases, only let them use the art since it had credits back to me on it) but then i got accused of supposedly harassing another admin (which i didn't do, i never really talked to said admin) and got banned out of the group. I told them they were not allowed to use my art anymore, even with credit, because i did not want my art being used by the group or associated with it if i was being accused and banned without solid proof. They ignored my request. This was when i reported the group, they took it down, made a new one, and traced one of the bases i was working that i did not give them permission to use. I reported them for it, the Moderators basically came up with excuses saying "oh, but it was just their base maker" (Who was friends with the Owner of the group at the time) and only gave them a slap on the wrist. The owner of the group, i'll call them Butters (their old username) was incredibly manipulative, would trauma-dump on their Admins and openly said that the Admins should ignore their stress and just pretend everything was fine and continue working on stuff for the group. Understandably so, this is one of the reasons i partially quit the game. ALSO, TO ADD TO THIS: They claimed they would report me for copyright infringement if i was to *USE MY OWN ART IN ANYTHING ELSE* because i supposedly "gave them the rights to the art" which i never did.

i used to play this game heavily from the ages of 10-12 and ended up with an angry mob of players attacking me for "art theft". the art theft in question was my profile picture of a wolf somebody else drew that i did not at any point claim was my own. i'm not sure who the original artist was because i'd seen it a million times on tumblr, deviant art, pinterest, etc. always posted by different accounts. i think it was even the first (or at least one of the first) images to pop up on google when you searched "wolf art" at that time. i changed my profile picture after that but my account still got banned for it a couple days later. was absolutely heartbreaking for little 12 yr old me

I was in the art and rp side and oh my god was it ripe with drama too Edit: Let's be honest though, the Ovipets' mod team were and, to me, still are a bunch of idiots who it takes stirring the pot so much for them to do literally anything about it. God ovipets brings back so many memories, I also started playing while I was like 8 or 9, the process I always go through is play for like a month everyday, then not play for a year or two, then rediscover the game and play for a month, then not play for a year or two and the cycle repeats 😭

The story of how you found out about Ovipets is similar to how I found out about another facebook game: Happy Pets! One of my Mom's friends showed Happy Pets to me and would often give her pets she didnt want to me. I made an Ovipets account but I never used it, so I had no idea about projects. I would always rather play Happy Pets and this one wolf game that I forget the name of. Sadly, they made Happy Pets pay-to-play using a subscription. Wonder if all these games are still out there since the ending of flash.

pokefarm Q has filled the ovipets shaped hole in my heart. the gameplay loop is similar except ur pets don't die, if other people click ur pokemon they just level up. the site is probably super uninteresting if ur not a fan of pokemon, tho

I got banned on HorseIsle 2: Lifecycle because I ran a small business helping people hustle their big stat purebred offspring in the auction house with big breeders! If I accidentally won their horse, they paid me back my funds and I'd give them some money for their time and we'd run again. Helped people auction horses for 400k+ than they normally would. Biggest one was over 1.2mil! I always got whatever they felt like paying me. Some paid me a percent, some even paid up to HALF of the marked up profit. Got banned for "unsportsmanlike behavior" for this lol. The economy of that game got so inflated and barely has 10 people on at a time now 😂

So I don't use Facebook or play games on there but I sort of had the same thing happen to me on amino with indie game and video game mods and trolls attacking me and false reporting me and banning me unfairly from their aminos over lies just because they thought I was someone else with no proof of me using those names in 3 aminos. I even lost online friends due to these liars on amino who ran the videogame and indie game communities. They even wanted TeamAmino to ban me from the app in mario amino but I did nothing wrong and I have 6 years of screenshots of these idiots harassing,syberstalking and bullying me and no matter how many times I reported them nothing happened.

When I was 11 I started, led, and finished an entire revolution within a closed species group(they had roughly over 300 members). I remember this one really nice person got blacklisted for not knowing it was closed and breaking one of the rules. Well me and quite a few other members of the group were outraged cause we really liked the guy. And over the span of months we gathered members and spies over on discord. Eventually us leaders were banned from the main server with the message "Caught ya" and we operated for a while, taking in new unofficial members and bending the rules. After months of this going on the main group was finally ready to cooperate. We discussed rule changes and a way to let the unofficial members become official. And finally everything was resolved. But the funniest thing is, half the issue started with us not being able to out hats on out characters. And that's the rule that was changed. 👍

this reminded me of a pet adoption /collect game called chicken noodle soup or noodle soup?? I can't remember. I never played it that often but it was quite addictive and there was a side in it for community chatting and trading but I never knew how to use it so I just breeded dogs/deer and butterfly wolves and named them after youtubers 😂

Jeez, I still play ovipets, but like most of my communities, I know little of their history or what is current. My own account probably has all the pets as dead because I lost mmotivation but DAMN. Edit: Some fun ovipets info! They often fund wildlife supporting charities, and have been doing it basically since the beginning. Even though I'm not active in the community, it is pretty alive, and as long as you follow peoples rules, the people are usually quite nice.

I loved that pet thing when it first came out! I had my own smol project with pink and yellow critters to look like my sonas. Eventually quit cuz I stopped using Facebook tho. I'm glad ovi fixed the pet project issues and you and your mom weren't completely shut out for your silly joke! Tip top sounds like an asshole and the aunt was one too for giving tip top the account, assuming tip top didn't somehow steal it out from under her aunt.

This is why Microtransactions should not exist, with out them none of this drama would have happened. If they didn't make it nearly impossible to breed without paying real money for fake money and instead have a monthly fee to access the game and have a balanced in game economy. Basicallythe company price gouging for breeding pushes those who can't afford it, to find a work around and in this case it Tip and her loyalist and also explains why there were so many willing to defend her. Even though what they did was wrong they probably saw themselves as Robin Hood and his merry men taking the fight to Prince John and the Sheriff of Nottingham, even though in reality they were just robbing the other players and in the long run guess who didn't really lose ANYTHING until players started leaving ? the GAME COMPANY and they are ones who created this problem and also didn't bother to create a way to protect their paying customers until WAY after the fact and without the drama they probably would have never bothered. I am willing to bet enough PAYING players were discouraged by people like Tip and stopped playing and the company saw the dip in profits from PAYING customers leaving and that is why they acted

Good thing i joined after the neuter feature. Also i just think people getting butthurt over breeding is lame if they dont have measures against it dont stress or worry about it. I just got back into Ovipets a couple weeks ago. The project registry is wonderful, though Ovi is getting a little more... pay-to-play-ish with their "exclusive" mutations and Ovi+. luckily you don't actually need to buy any of it to enjoy the game
