These are my go to now. I feel like the lineup between my 3 sets of bags I take with me is absolutely perfect. Mudbugs, RougX, Rex. Cannot complain about those 3 bags for all board conditions. I throw the RougX by default though. The bag collects so well and you loft it a little higher and its a perfect blocking bag as well. Just beautiful.

Have you thrown the Moccasins? I end up throwing those more at Switcholios as I find the Rougarou X (since they’re not fully broken in yet)and Rex are sometimes a little fast for some people.

@@hafnutz67 I haven't tried the moccasins yet. That is traditional herringbone material right? Rex's are definitely too fast for most people. I keep my RougX's pretty dirty though, keeps them slower. Toss them in the dirt. Literally.

@@josephfireborn Yes, they are a more traditional herringbone that feels amazing when broken in. They are perfect for when the boards are too slow for the Mudbugs or too fast for the Rougarou X and/or Rex’s. If I’m only bringing one set, it’s the Moccasins because I know I can make them work regardless of board conditions.

I've got the Seva Nighthawks, and they are amazing. Loved them so much I just received the RougerouX that I ordered to see if they were equally amazing. Unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to throw them yet. I will note that the RougerouX have fairly square corners compared to the Nighthawks. I have no idea how that may or may not affect the playability.

@mcfresh30 - I've yet to play my RougerouX. Still in the process of breaking them in. I may get the chance to throw both tonight. If I do, I'll drop a comparison later tonight. That being said, the Nighthawks are terrific, and I expect the same from the RougerouX.

@mcfresh30 - I've played the RougerouX a bit in the past week. Unfortunately blind draws I've gotten stuck playing other players' bags. I don't think there's a noticeable difference in the RougerouX and the Seva Nighthawks. Can't go wrong with either. I ruined a set of Nighthawks playing in a street tournament, and Seva replaced them even though it was my own fault. Top notch customer service. I would assume the same for Nola.

Love my Rougarou X so far Very hole friendly, NOLA has the best ACL bag for the money hands down 🤌

Clones completely different bag. They are smaller template of the well known viper R , power draggin, rippers etc , super solid bags though but not the same slow as the rougaru X

I would go with the RougarouX. That's mainly because I have a lot of bags that are like the Clone. The RougarouX is a unique bag and is different than all my other bags.

@karmaruth-bd7gz roughly the same. The seva is more rounded at the corners. But it is a personal preference. Bg wizards are one of the highest selling bags, and they are more square. It's all in what you prefer. You wouldn't go wrong with either. And the owners of both companies are awesome.

Yeah, Billy at NOLA is literally running a one-man shop out of his garage. In the Rule of 3, I'd rather have great quality at a low price and wait an extra week or two.

Hey Mike, which bag do you prefer, the rougarou x or the rex? I have the rougarou 2.0 now but would like to do more rolls and I feel the 2.0 is slower than id like on both sides so I was thinking about switching to the rex. Thoughts? Thanks, phill

I bought a set of Rougarou 2.0 last year and sold them for the same reason. Fast side was way to slow. I got a set of RougarouX when they released and they are amazing! Very hole friendly for the thick slow side. Highly recommend trying them. I also have a set of Rex. Excellent bag if you like a fast bag or play in humid conditions. I take mine out when the boards are sticky. Personally, I dont know of a more hole friendly bag on the market.

Get both. I have 2 sets of Rex’s and I think 3 of my friends have bought Rex’s after throwing mine. They are a looser floppier bag the the Rougarou X, especially after you throw them a bit. I can roll the Rex’s very well and I am not a consistent roll bag guy. Think it’s the amount of bead fill in there. Rex’s slow side is faster than Rougarou X but the fast side of Rex is slower- about 8.5. My cre has been throwing the Rougarou X more than Rex’s now but I wouldn’t get rid of either bag and think they are different enough to have both. Billy makes awesome bags for a very fair price.

Hopefully Billy starts pushing bags out. Since this review is live he’s gonna be busy. I’ve been waiting a hot minute for the couple sets I ordered from Nola last month (still under the 18 day window he gives, but longer than the last sets I ordered). I’m getting antsy for my bags 😀
