Been meaning to do this with actual bags for the last 11 months. Just dawned on mye that it can be done without making bags and just using the fabrics, and going by feel. Then put the best feeling sides together and try to replicate the feel as a finished bag. Great video Mike!

Couldn't you just take the template cuts and break them in before assembling the bags together? before or after sublimation? Or do you think this will cause a problem during stitching since the material would be softer?

Love Toss Sauce. The way that man and his family are elevating that brand is the epitome of the American Dream. If you want something Cheaper go vinegar. But I have no problem supporting Toss Sauce, standing behind them as a company and recommending anyone to use them.

Machine wash tap cold delicate setting. They will feel better immediately. Then toss sauce, rinse, and machine wash cold again. Air dry with a fan. Carpet, fast, hybrid, doesnt matter they will be money. Also thanks for all your hard work on this Mike. That must have been a lot of hours spent on this experiment! Kudos to you

Great video and awesome work!! I use distilled white vinegar soak and then after the rinse to dry faster I use an XL water absorber chamois and then they air dry good.. Works great for cleaning with Dawn as well to not get over used on older bags. I wear hats and to clean them I use oxiclean because it breaks down the oils from skin..so with bags that have absorbed a lot of sweat I clean and soak a few minutes with oxiclean and then rinse and then 1 wash with Dawn to get the oxiclean out and then rinse very well. I feel the oils from our skin also slow a bag down from its true speed over time. This is what seems to work for me.

I use white vinegar in the washer with the bags and a couple towels just put the vinegar where the fabric softener supposed to go and it works great! Doesn’t alter material but loosens up nicely. We actually don’t use fabric softener anymore to wash clothes just the white vinegar

Be very careful and sparing with the vinegar you can always add more, but start with a third or a quarter cup do the whole process including drying and then try it out there is no coming back from too much vinegar. Your bags will be too loose. but, in my humble experience vinegar has been the best it leaves no residue smell and it’s not a chemical, but please be sparingly take your time

i tried alot of methods but the one works the best for me is just a warm water soak and tumble low heat. it breaks it in enough just to where you can throw the rest to break in.

If my bags already soft, I just throw it. I use the vinegar if it's stiff brand new. I followed the video you did on vinegar break in for my coyotes, and threw them for a few days to break in the beads. Good enough for me. I have vinegar in the kitchen, no need to buy anything extra. I'm paranoid with dryers so I sun/air dry it. Once my bags get dirty I eventually do wash it with soap tho

Like a good recipe, it’s not the ingredients, rather the method that makes the dish. I could give you all the ingredients to a good Louisiana Gumbo or Jambalaya, but you would not succeed without the method. This was a great “scientific method” type experiment with similar results, however your conclusion is everything!! It’s better to break in bags rather than just throw. Thanks Mike!!

The Nuked is just a stronger version of the Carpet Muncher. Toss Sauce has three different strengths of their product - OG, Carpet Muncher, Nuked. It just depends on how floppy and how broke in you want your bags to be.

Prior to that I was a hot water soak and massage guy followed by a couple tumble in the dryer no heat. *******question: what microphone receiver/transmitter brand do you use for all your vids? One thing I wish you mention is the Time of each break-in method...Like which one took the longest, per instructions, and which one was the quickest...or even say what was the cheapest..even though we know Vinegar would be. Do you feel any of the methods change the speed of the bags? See now, like you mention, I don't like Toss Sauce, but my friends do..I have used it and I don't think it does anything more than washing them with Dawn Soap. I Have Wrinkle Guard and many people loved their bags when I did them for them. They tell me they don't feel any residue and that could be cause I will do a 2nd Hot washer rinse with them with either Vinegar or Micro Fiber Towel wash. I also don't like to put them in the dryer, with heat or none. I let them air dry or put them on the AC Condenser unit and let the fans air dry them.. For me, I have found that putting them in the dryer has cause my bags to pill a little as with my friends. But now that you can't buy no sent Wrinkle Guard, I been playing with a more commercial product called PROSoft K...This product is suppose to remove the stiffness of shirt from tie dying without leaving any residue. The big thing also, every bag breaks in different!! So you can't do the same process for every type of bag material. My Fall-X were stiff like cardboard! and came out great..but my Titan Ravage Fury, came out really floppy. So you have to use your judgment based on how the bag is new like you mention. Great job and I know how pain staking doing something like this can be!
@MikesBags
@MikesBags Жыл бұрын
The reason I didn't mention any of those things was because it wasn't the point of the video. I documented all of that when I did my experiment earlier this year. What I found out was all of the methods worked about the same, except for the just throw it. So it's all about personal preference and what method you prefer. For example, I love the way the bag feels after I use Toss Sauce. However, you don't and that's OK. I may not like the way the bags feel after you use your method. In the end, after you throw the bags for a few hours, they all feel the same. That was the point I was trying to get across in the video. I wasn't trying to go into details about each method. To answer your questions, the shaving cream is the longest. Toss Sauce is the quickest. Fabric Softener is the cheapest. Ultra's kit is the most expensive.

Just putting weight on top of the bags isn't going to soften up the materials. Parking a car on top will probably damage the resin inside.

@nbruno121195
@nbruno121195 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video Mike, although you may not feel it was a definitive result, it was clearly definitive to me… Doesn’t matter what you use as long as you use something- something is better than nothing. As for throwing to break in, most of us don’t have the time to throw a crappy performing bag for an unknown number of hours to get it to play like we want. Any shortcut is worth it to me, and there is no doubt that throwing the bag decreases its lifespan- how much is the first question, and does it really matter is the second question. A great feeling, great playing bag is what is most important.

The boards I use are Cornhole Solutions boards. They have Tournament boards and Pro Solution boards. The Pro boards are their best boards. I use the Tournament boards because I'm constantly moving them and they are lighter than the Pro boards. Both are great options. Check them out. If you buy a set, use the code mike10 and you'll save 10%. Cornholesolutions.com I sell my used bags in my Ko-fi shop (ko-fi.com/MikesBags). My members get first dibs on the bags. I don't put mine in a bag, but you can use a mesh laundry bag or a pillow case if you are worried about it. If you do use a bag, use two bags instead of putting all 4 bags into one. If you put all 4 bags together, it could be rough on the dryer with all 4 of then tumbling together.
