What I really like about Olivier is that he doesn't run around gloating as does Reaves and some others (at least I haven't seen him do it). He is a decent hockey player too (with 7 goals). Lomberg is no slouch either. Both of these guys could be on my team any day. Great tilt.

Not for much longer, body checking and hitting stats down over 50% from a decade ago, fighting is being phased out and body checking comes next. All because of MUH concussions and MUH CTE. Player Safety concerns and the Department Of Player Safety will have all physical contact removed from this sport by 2030 if this keeps up.

To start off... the hit was definitely a 5 minute boarding. No question. The fight was a fight, until 94 from Calgary got involved. 100% affected the safety of a player who was unable to protect himself, so that HAS to be an ejection for 3rd man in. Olivier deserves 5 for the hit from behind. He hit him square in the numbers and he saw the number well before he made the hit. PS - I know a lot of people HATE Lomberg, and I understand why. But give the guy credit, fighting one of the toughest and BIGGEST SOBs in the league. Lomberg ain't a big guy. Good for him.

The only thing I didn't like was the Flames geek grabbing the CBJ fighter from behind during the one fight. Kinda quasi 3rd man in if that is still a penalty. Lomberg looks like a scrappy middle weight. Admirable Lomberg stepped to a heavyweight. CBJ has good team spirit. Watched this instead of the Pens highlights. Pens fan.

And what makes you so sure they could tell it was clean when it was LIVE? You forget, it's a fast game, and players don't get to review it on the spot, not like we can with these video clips. So it's only second nature to see a teammate down and decide to try and dish out some justice. Then again, the score could also play a factor, if one team is down and need that momentum shift. That was the case, too.

Another thing about Oliver. He pushes down his helmet and lowers his face shield before a fight. The league should enforce player to takeoff their helmets and allow the players 3 minutes to fight similar to a MMA or professional boxing if that is what they want to do. 1st fight was a joke. Clean hit 100% 2nd hit is still the penalty, Columbus should've had a powerplay, 2 flames plays not in the fight were tugging on Olivier and left him open to 4 rights by proposal 3rd fight. Good on lomberg for holding his own but that was a SEVERELY mismatched fight.
