It's not a drill or an impact, it's a nut driver. For the inside vent on the tailgate, pry from the left side. Not the right, you will weaken or bust the plastic. Cover the screw driver so it doesn't scratch the pain.

Hmmm, I opted for a spare tire delete that includes the middle Brake light. It was not that much more expensive and makes more sense to keep using the center brake light.

When it rains does water get in through those vent hole ? Does the cargo area get wet ?

On road or off road, I'll never understand why someone would want to ditch their spare.

pcosta816 this is also used for when people get bumpers with a swing gate for the spare.

First, because the spare tire sticks beyond the rear bumper, so even a minor tap from behind on that wheel will push in your rear door, when instead your steel bumper and hitch could have prevented said damage if the spare is deleted. Secondly, if you have a larger than stock tire, a 33 on a wheel can easily weigh over 100lbs, 35's+ even more, the stock bracket is less than 1/8" thick aluminum, (more like .09") and will not handle that weight, nor the increased dimension in diameter (it'll hit your bumper)

Never just pull on a wire, push out from the inside while pulling, it will pop out easier than just yanking on wires.
