Couple good choices there Casey, Chef Jon being #1. Boonie cooken at its best... good choice on the turn-arounds. Best not to get to sidetracked when "wet wheelin" I live on "the west side..." Oregon in November can be gourgous but also very wet, sloppy, and mucky. You are a few hundred miles north of me so I know it all freezes quicker then it does here. Good preperation, good planning, good staging, and good communication makes for good fun. Yeah for Chef Jon, we missed him and hope that he is avaliable more often. And him Toyota is looking sweet these days... keep up the "goodtime wheelin" live the waterfalls too.... looken like Im gonna have to check me out obe of those saftysecond hoody's to, but I won't be able to come to Vancover Is. And get it so off to the internet...✌

Right on Chef Jon, look firward to some more of that 5star trail cooking. Who says you can have good high quailty meals while out enjoying the great outdoors. You make it happen Jon. I know its a lot of planning, prep, and hard work to make it happen. You have definitly set the bar on trail cooking. And your "Chuck Wagon" is looking sweet. Love those rims bro... looks great and works good. Keep up the awesome adventure and I'll keep watchen... "Chef Jon" "5 star Master trail chef..."

Great camera footage. Great scenery. Overall very nice video production. All in the rain, snow and mud at that, good job Casey. Sous steaks! please! A bag of ping pong balls. Casey just take your Kurig coffee maker again. I began to watch which I thought was gonna be an epic, an epic wheeling adventure. Which you've done. Your title includes bring communication I thought we were in for an epic adventure. Before I begin watching your next video please advise that the trail you choose to adventure out on such as this one, is nothing more than an Outback Subaru trail (as we saw in the video of being every bit capable of making it to your Final destination) Every opportunity to be something more than that, you turned around. As always we did Martha's kitchen on the tailgate. At your young age your shoulder is contributed to what I see you eat all the time. Save that battery on the jackery recharge the chainsaw and cut the tree out of your way next time. And continue for your firewood. The ax was just overdramatization. Especially when you follow up with the Sous. JMO (Chef, Sous, Ping pong balls, Are all great when entertaining and enjoying your Luxury cottage, say Aspen. How about more of a focus on Mesquite wood fire grilled cowboy steaks? Cooked and seared to perfection. That would be much more doable much more practical, impressive while off the beaten path. Please just give us a better description before we waste 20 minutes watching.

Chef John buy a case of plastidip. Spray the sides of your 4 runner for winter. 2 thick coats. Peel them in the spring. Works great. Casey and Shaun uses scratches and scrapes as a sign of badge of honor. A nice 4 runner has so much better resale value and they just cost crazy money. Casey how is the overheating.

How does Jon have his tent mounted to his runner? I also have a FSR tent on mine but it sits pretty high up on the crossbars I’m using and would love to get it a bit more low profile
@ChefJon2503 жыл бұрын
At the time I wasn't sure what the long term plan was and didn't want to commit to a full rack replacement, so the boys at Epic recommended the Venture Roof Rack Kit from Artec Industries. We ended up just using the cross bars on the stock rack and that let us basically sit the tent flush - the Landon and the Ginger modified the mounting hardware a bit and voila. If you're interested, feel free to drop me a DM and I can probably snag a few pics of it.

You guys ever see any bears or grizzlys on your trips? Are you equipped yo protect yourselvea?
@Casey2503 жыл бұрын
There are no grizzlys on Vancouver Island. I have seen a few black bears when driving, but nothing at camp. We camp in grizzly country alot though in the rest of BC. I think that making a lot of noise and keeping all food secured and stowed and don't make a mess while cooking goes a long way for keeping bears away. We usually have music playing as we get into the evening and I keep my key fob with me to hit the panic alarm if we need to make more.

Being on the "wet coast" I am wondering if you have any great tips and tricks about off-roading and back country camping in the rain? I have found everything you own seems to get wet pretty quick and it is hard to dry out when camping so just wondering if you have come up with some good ideas?
@Casey2503 жыл бұрын
I cannot stress enough to need for good rain gear and boots. Even if its pouring rain, if your dry, its good. Then shelter for camping. We bring easy up tents for extra shelter when we can, but an awning was really nice to add on. I can now cook and keep a jeep door open to access stuff in the jeep while its raining. We don't tent to stay at a spot all day so just jeep try, pack up, and get in the jeep and keep rain gear on. Long down pours can certainly make it a struggle sometimes but I love the rain.
