They just used endangered Black Wood for their knives. The nerve of them! I love it. I just ordered one!

Lol 😆 enjoy. Thanks for watching. BTW It's not endangered just controlled because of the long maturity period...oh wait...never mind

Over a year ago I had several knives in my Cart and since I was paying for shipping I tossed this in. To my surprise, I absolutely loved it! In the bright light I can see character in the wood. But, the thing that really got me was the fit and finish. It became the standard by which I judge all knives. If an inexpensive import can be made so well, I see no reason for knives that are considered a quality USA product not to meet this level of workmanship! For $7.36 I thought it was the deal of a lifetime only to see today it is $7.01 at CKW!! An absolute gem that fits well in a small RR slip or a Hide and Drink leather Bic lighter case as an alternative.

We would consider that a farmer’s knife or basic work knife where I grew up in the US West. And a pen knife was smaller, usually two blades, a light-duty indoorsy knife. Interesting regional variation! I like my Rough Riders.

Yeh. That's interesting. But maybe my memory is not what it was...lol. thanks for watching and commenting much appriciated

George that's good information, I never thought about the name pen knife, of course quill pen writing is known to me, but I never experienced it so the correlation between the name and pen never occurred to me. I always called them pocketknives because they fit in my pocket and that is what my dad called them, so it stuck with me
@2ndchancegeorge5 ай бұрын
Lol..I think it's named after the blade style which was perfect for quill shaping. If it just had that blade it was referred to as Pen Knife. To us..more than one blade was a pocket knife. Although both were carried in your pocket...lol...wierd

Thank you George, really great to meet you, just found your channel and have subscribed. A fantastic review of this great looking knife, I have been buying a few these sodbuster type knives recently, although not lock backs, I just love the shape of the blade and handle. This will be in my order for July, I try and budget for two knives a month, mainly RR, Marbles etc. Thanks again and take care Sam ( N.Ireland) PS I will making my way through your catalog of videos in due course 👍

I've always thought a pen knife was the little knives with 1 to 3 blades and it usually has one close to 2" and the other one or 2 was really short blades. I sure didn't know what you were saying. 55 years old and learned something. I've for years always carried a big knife and then a small one in my front pocket. Something to use for splinters and suxh

Looks like a good knife George, might be a good candidate for a P7 Suspension clip if you could get some cordage through the lanyard hole. I carry all my Swiss Army knives on P7 clips and they seem to work pretty well.
