I bought mine 12 years ago and the liner Lock still works perfectly but I see now that Heinnie Haynes sells them as slip joints???.
@nerv5th2 жыл бұрын
If the problem with the lock is a design flaw thank I could understand why HH sells them as slip joint but I don't know is this issue is only on my piece.

I like this one! That blue jean micarta looks great without bolsters. Can you take some pliers and bent the liner lock a bit? Or exchange it for a functional one? Disappointing to get a nonfunctional knife, even if it is handsome.
@nerv5th2 жыл бұрын
The bending does not help since it has an undercut design and the brass is soft it just bends out and is just not functional I might do a lock delete but will try to get also the wasp version and will compare it to give it a chance maybe only mine is faulty. Without the lock, it is still a great value as a slip joint but the opening feels gritty maybe I have to try to clean it out.

I would send it back, but I know it is much more difficult and costly for you in Europe. It's one of my favorite RRs in a long time. The brass birdseye pivot looks good. I've 2 of these linerlock "workknives" , a yellow carbon and a red jig bone, and they both function perfectly. So I'm pretty sure yours may have been a QC oversight. Another good video!

I just push the lick into place with my thumb and it works fine.. So far

Another one i have in my basket & as another subscriber pointed out , it's not very faded denim . The RRR denim is more faded & if it was th3 same colour I would have it by now. I definitely think yours if defective, but not sure Heinnie Haynes will cover return postage & the taxes from overseas ( but they should if its defective) & it is.

Thanks but I have not bought it from HH just because I don't want to undergo all the hassle with customs so I order from France link is in the description so far they had the best prices I could find and free shipping ower 150 EUR anyway even if it is defective I will not return it I do primarily collect them so on the shell it does not bother me that the lock does not work. Wish you a nice day.

I have 2 of the work knives and both have the same problem. I am surprised some people report their lock works, because I agree the design is flawed as you stated. I have the red jig none stainless steel model and the yellow handled carbon steel. It is too bad because I like the knife

Thank you for confirmation I got the old coal miner version and that works just fine.

Besides NOT being "faded", Rough Ryder laid an "egg"! Could've been a very nice knife. Great shape. Great size. Great price...but an "egg" for having a "wattle". Wattle (noun): a colored fleshy lobe hanging from the head or neck of domestic chickens, turkeys and some other birds.
@nerv5th2 жыл бұрын
I always appreciate the opportunity to learn something new Thanks for the explanation now I know what that fleshy part is called in English now I have to search for how it is called in my native language because I don't know it. Apparently, it is called Lalok interesting...

@@nerv5th LOL! Not a common word. Also present in humans as well as chickens! LOL!

@@bmoviebmovie Now you got me where is it present in the human body?
@bmoviebmovie2 жыл бұрын
@@nerv5th ....it is typically in the same place! If you look up "jowl" (jowls) in the dictionary it will say "the lower part of a person's or animal's cheek, especially when it is fleshy or drooping." It also refers to the "cheek of a pig used as meat" as well as "the loose fleshy part of the neck of certain animals, such as the dewlap of cattle or the wattle of birds". In any event, "wattle" is/was not a complement or term of endearment.

That knife is defective, send it back. I have the smaller tater skin version and the framelock works properly, but it does have a bit of lock-rock.
