Speaking of the Warner Brothers cartoons...their DVDs have one of the best content warnings ever. After acknowledging racist content, it says that the cartoons will be shown uncut because censoring them would be like saying these stereotypes never existed.

I hundred percent agree with you that live and let die is a great movie and it gave a lot of black actors jobs. Also production team jobs within the movie. It is a product of the time and added a different flavor to the Bond cannon.

After 60 years the British film institute decides to make a warning aboutBond movies? They’re only about six decades too late and what about the censorship of the books? that’s disgusting! Thank God you crossed the pond!

Yeah, warnings are whatever, as long as they avoid censorship I'm alright. After all, even the Star Wars: The Clone Wars movie gets shown with a warning sonetimes (smoking)!

Yes, there are defiantly problematic scenes in the Bond films. I would say the forced kiss on Pussy Galore in Goldfinger, the coerced sex on Shrublands massage therapist in Thunderball come to mind. Zena Marshall's yellowface and the "fetch my shoes" line in Dr No is worse than anything in LALD. Some of those things were cringe worthy back then. Most of the questionable events in the films however deserve a "Oooo that's not good" or "not cool Bond" response. I can't think of anything that would be so offensive as to be ghastly! Censorship in the novels is abhorrent, they deserved a warning label or disclaimer for sure. Trigger warning labels for the films, a bit of an over reaction but I'd rather have that than censorship any day!
