im a new Christian (ex Muslim). I have been exploring Catholicism and watching videos from both sides - I must say, brother Ryan you have helped me tremendously in this. I always felt catholics tend to take biblical verses out of context and need to do lots of 'reaching' to interpreting the verses. I don't think God intended His word to be used in that way. i was born and raised as RC in ph. i always pray to Mary and Sto. Niño in our church. i know Jesus by name and He was crucified. But i never pray to Him. But when i accidentally attend born again church, they encourage me to read the bible. Im 34 now... and i have my faith in Jesus Christ.

I used to be catholic and also wanted to be a priest at a certain point in time, along with a plaque from my catholic school for religious knowledge award. I used to debate like that guy all the time, but im telling you that some people like myself, until God removes the veil from them, the gospel will not make sense or fully click. God himself saved me, had demons casted out, miracles of healing, and visions and hearing God audibly. Videos like these help me to renew my mind (mainly with the bible ofc) Thank you. Also dont be frustrated if it doesnt make sense to people, if a mormon/muslim reads the bible they see their truth. Just as the bible says "And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers so they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God." - 2 corinthians 4:3-4

I don’t mean to be mean or rude or bias but I watched voice of reasons videos and I get this sense of pride from him and doesn’t seem sincere… Iv also looked into Catholicism bc I was doubting my faith and if I was following the truth… and during my time researching for about a month I felt farther away from Christ than I have ever been….but that’s just my experience

Bruh, I'm watching this at around 2:00 am but the sudden mention of Iglesia Ni Cristo woke me up. As an Ex- Iglesia Ni Cristo member now Christian (praise God), I can confirm that the controversy around 1 Timothy 3:15 is real. The INC is literally obsessed with the church's "authority" (typical of a restorationist church tbh), because everything else stems down from that may it be bible interpretation, overall instructions/orders to its members etc. Props to you man. I don't know and I'm also curious where you got that information about them from but one thing I know fs is that you don't stumble upon the INC without being too deep the christian rabbit hole, I pay my utmost respects to you sir. Ryan actually obeys the Word of God's plead for gentleness when teaching, but Voice of Reason's last messages seemed like he constructed his video only for the downfall and exposure of Ryan. Despite that, let's forgive them of any mistakes and pray that gentleness will be evident in their live debate, and that the Truth will truly be shown. To God be the glory!

The gospel is so very simple, yet because of traditions of men, far too many are still unsaved. If one believes totally 100% you are solely saved because you put your faith in what Christ did for you, you are 100% saved, from here to eternity. If on the other hand you see it as a collaborative effort between you and God, as a sort of a relay race, where Christ ran the first lap and then he handed you the baton in order for you to do your very best in order to be saved, you are not saved, since you've not ever believed in the salvation Christ already gained for you and gave to you as a free gift. Even thinking you have any part in your salvation beyond believing the gospel message is just ripping off the glory from God with self-righteous misguided pride.

I truly enjoyed seeing/hearing this rebuttal. As most people know, there are usually major issues between Catholics and Protestants. Ryan, you don't let that get in the way. I myself don't get into specific denominations as I try to follow what scripture dictates and don't favor any 1 churches doctrine. Now i do have some points to point out for "the voice of reason." This is not in judgment but observation of him or any denomination, just wanted to make that clear. First off, it seems a bit self aggrandizing to call ones channel "THE voice of reason," not a voice of reason or the mission of ones channel to be a voice of reason. To me it seems to assert ones own opinion over others as better/more biblical. Secondly, he (VOR) seemed to use "protestant" more as a derogatory term. Which happens between Catholics and Protestants, but it's Christ above all. We can't let ourselves be dragged down by differences so much that we devolve into anger/hatred/disgust with each other. That kinda flies in the face of the greatest commandment: Love the lord your God and love your neighbor as yourself. Treat others with love and this response does that. Productive and calm discussion concerning biblical issues between 2 individuals. Thank you, Ryan, for your insights and love the content. May God continue to bless you in even greater understanding and wisdom than you already have been given. And thank you for pointing out the arguement of pope/papalcy as recently i came to the same understanding (it never sat right with me but scripture actually doesnt show the "role" of the pope or anything for the lineage of peter)
