You have a different style from others I watch. I can appreciate the extra care and precision you take with your bevels.

That is the most important statement I've heard about "Rough Rooster Magic"! You hit the nail on the head!

Always coming back for problem solving....the switch from the coarse Crystolon to the 325 DMT was an eye-opener. That makes sense! Miss you something awful, Chris!

You did a helluva job fixing the dicked up tip on that blade dude. Can't wait to use it! I liked the different angles for the video, but didn't dislike your previous setup. Do what you do, I'll still be here. 👍

I can't say I'd have done the same thing as you on literally any level, but you still achieved fantastic results, and that's what I wish beginners understood. Hell, one of the best parts about learning to sharpen is looking back over the edges you were happy with and seeing how you can improve them now. I've been sharpening for nearly 25 years, and I would never pretend my way is the only way, or even the right way. Great video, subbed. Seems like you're not active anymore... Shame. Edit: also, this reminds me I should probably clean up the tip on my tanto Eklipse, but I seriously hate sharpening Hinderers 20cv

Glad I found your channel. When you’re trying to get your camera to focus close, like when you were trying to show the progress here, if you put your hand right behind the object you’re showing, or a piece of paper, or anything so that the object isn’t the closest thing to the camera by like 4 feet, it’ll help

Awesome, thank you for the tip. I'm not very camera savvy lol. But I will definitely try this.

Great job repairing that challenging tanto blade Chris. It certainly came out great. I haven't seen you work a tanto before. Nice video.

Awesome job! You brought the two edges together like a pro. I like this angle but the other one wasn't bad either. I'm happy either way.

Just subbed your channel and been enjoying these videos. I seen your video yesterday about you getting hassle. Ignore it mate and don't stop making these videos. Just wondering what your opinion or anyone in the comments opinion on the budget whetstones (sharp pebble etc) on Amazon are like or would i be better starting with the likes of the King 1000 which seems popular as a first stone.
@roughroosterknifesharpenin55314 жыл бұрын
Thank you. And I very very rarely use waterstones. They don't work half as good as what I do. So I couldn't recommend anything. And 1000 grit to start out. Your gonna be there awhile

I'm a newbie but don't make my mistake. Everybody (jncluding Chris) suggested I get diamond stones to start. I knew better (sarcasm) and didn't want to spend the "extra" money. I purchased a Crystolon, Washita, Soft and Hard Arkansas. Still ended up buying diamond stones. Buy them to begin with. Just my $0.02.
@waynebean15214 жыл бұрын
@@bamafaninky861 , know what you mean, Man! I'm JUST starting to appreciate Nortons and Arkansas stones. Just watch all of Chris's videos and you'll get it......it takes time, practice (lots) and dedication. Believe me, I know. I'm not there, yet, but I know what to go for!
