Did the route 66 trip in 2016 on motorcycle from Chicago to Santa Monica Ca.The best trip ever. Stayed at all the old motels and ate at all the old diners

Watched the I40 video before this one. Traveled "Root" 66 throughout my childhood (50's-60's), then later I40 to go to Indiana to visit all my relatives. Many generations of Hoosiers, I'm the only native-born Californian. Those trips to "go see Grandma" were the highlight of my early years. Things sure have changed, the roads, especially Route 66, from the narrow 2-lane, wandering, "dipsy-doodle" road we drove on. Flagstaff was always a beautiful blessing after the terrible heat of the Mojave Desert. No AC in cars back then, many of us slept by the side of the road back then. Me in the front seat, Mom in back, Dad on a cot beside the car. Budget accommodations!

I remember my family staying at Black Bart's RV Park, right across from Little America, in June of 1975. Me and my brother sat up half the night listening to the truckers on CB. Glad to see it's all still there, 40 years later.

Great video Jack. The travelling reminds me of a trip I did in 2013. An Australian driving across the US, but in a Mustang, not a truck. Got done in Texas for not changing lanes for the police on the side of the road. Live and learn. I never did that again and I believe it is a great law. Should be enforced here on Aussie roads. I did 10000 miles in 4 weeks. American truckers, from my experience, are very considerate drivers and nice blokes. Had a beer or two with a few on my travels. Keep safe and keep the videos coming

Hello Jack from Kansas City. We have lots of Quick Trips here in KC. They are the very best at what they do. Let me tell you they have it down, from how clean the store is to the drinks to the prices and the service. It is the place to go. The employee's are very friendly and never fail to make to feel welcome. I do not work for them or have shares in the company. I just like the way they operate. Thanks for the great videos always look forward to what you are going to post next...

Jack you make the absolute best videos on KZbin about trucking, quality and content are great. Please keep it up. I drive a 5th wheel camper and voluntary follow the rules of CDL drivers. I wish more four wheelers would see this type of information so they would understand what big rigs are about

i enjoy your videos Jack thanks for the adventures and FYI when coming to Phoenix do not take loads from Upper Crust Bakery they will keep you there waiting all day. i know because I used to work there in shiping and receiving and the way they do things there just does not allow for fast or efficient loading. Thought i'd let you know that.

my neck of the woods,kinda cool to see familiar areas on one of your vids,I live 90 miles east of Gallup on 491(old 666)town called Farmington.Go all over the reservation pulling mobile homes for the Navajos.I guess I am a little spoiled as I always have an escort driver to throw the yellows on and block traffic for me,surprising how many people who are in a hurry to go about their daily business will just wait patiently as I completely mess up their timeline backing a 16 x 80 house into a tight lot and then give me a wave as they finally pass.

Hi Jack (don't yell that in an airport); we're new subscribers, so forgive comments on your 2-3 year old videos. We stayed in Little America Hotel 3 years ago, and walked every day through the truck stop looking at the many trucks, and loved the store. Everything you could think of, and the short order cook was fantastic. We were there again last year around Christmas and were very disappointed in the remodel of their truck stop store. Now it's nothing but a tourist trap now. Keep up the good driving, we enjoy your videos. Bob and Kathy in commiefornia

Thanks for these videos. It puts me right there in it. I’ve seen lots of channels that turn out being the personal life of the driver. From what I can see so far is that you are just giving us the view from the window into the highway truck stops. It’s bringing me back to when I did drive for a very little while. I missed my wife and children too much to keep doing it. My plan is when my youngest heads off to college in a couple of years to get back into it. My wife is excited about retiring and being able to come with me. I’ve told her that it can be a grind just to go every day but she hasn’t seen much of the country so I can’t dampen her spirit. We watched this video and we are both so excited. I know what this business is like and if my wife can be with me just sometimes it will be great. BTW I used to Drive I 40 every week. I loved the drive down the mtn from flagstaff to Lake Havasu. Amazing to see the weather change so rapidly.

Jack, you should consider installing an APU for your truck. IMO the cost would be recouped in terms of saving from fuel and maintenance for the tractor engine.
@zoelusiera10108 жыл бұрын
I love the different camera shots while you drive. It is if one is in the truck ! , experiencing the real "thing" . The other thing that also interest me , is that although it is a different country , the trucking issues stay the same ! That is now for example the thing with the "four wheelers" getting frustrated with trucks in the passing lane. hahahahaaa..........

Flagstaff is significantly higher in elevation than Phoenix. I believe it is normally much cooler, also. Many may assume Arizona being mostly desert but there is a very wide variety of biomes and each of them are large.
@wifighostcruiser96655 жыл бұрын
Welcome to Phoenix, Jack, there's nothing unusual about 116 degrees. I noticed you don't show the switchbacks going up the side of the mountain to Flagstaff, that's because you're too busy looking down at 8000 feet and hanging on for dear life LOL. Never again will I drive out there. I've had enough of driving on the sides of mountains where every moment could be your last.
