6:50 using washers to space drawer fronts very slick but grain mismatch making my ODC red-line. Speaking of red - painting the knobs was amazing idea. Matches the T-track too.

I wish I could work with you for a week or two, just to learn everything I can. My daddy was a "rough carpenter", so he never taught me how to make things look so NICE. They'll be sturdy as hell, but not very pretty! Lol! If I had built this, it would've been all 2x4s and mdf! Haha! Keep up the great work, lady. I'm glad I found you!! You're an inspiration, I hope you know, to all us girls out there who love the hardware store more than Sephora! Do yo thang, girl!!! Love from Arkansas!

Have come across photos of your router table cabinet half a dozen times in my search for overlooked ideas preparatory to building a router table into a new saw table extension. Yours is arresting. There's no better word for it though it is also charming and friendly. What a stand out. It is a real lesson in the possibilities of shop furniture. Gush gush. Sincerely.

@@DIYMontreal It's purely choice. Majority of my shop cabinets are birch plywood and soft maple trim, and I've finished those with oil poly just for the amber color. They would be just as good unfinished. If your shop sees high humidity you might want to finish them just to prevent warping/movement.

Marie, great detailed video. I built the table following your video, which I watched many times and printed out the pdf. The only issue I had was with the small drawers, I did not space them out properly and wished you would have provided dimensions for those too. All in all an excellent instructional video, thanks very much. You gave me the confidence to make this. I had never used drawer slides and european hinges and they came out fine.

This is a really nice router table and video. I would suggest that since your cords will be in the area where the dust will fall and be drawn through by the vacuum you should shield the cord connection so it does not fill with dust and become a fire hazard. I really like your videos and instructions. Cindy
@DIYMontreal
@DIYMontreal 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Cindy, I never really considered this. Not sure it’s a hazard since the dust is being sucked aways by the dust collector, but it’s something to consider.

Lovely job. Subscribed and liked. Quick tip. I have a similar set up. I find that the router raiser winder holes fill with saw dust. I keep a piece of plastic pipe in one of my drawers about the diameter of a drinking straw. I blow down this into the holes to clean them out. If you don't the winder key compresses the dust into the socket and it becomes hard to remove. Make sure you close your eyes when you blow!!
