Hi, I have been a subscriber to your channel for quite some time and I truly enjoy the informative content. I have a question, hope it doesn't sound too dumb. I got back into cycling when i purchased the 2020 Rubaix Sport and have put near ly 16,000 miles in just over 2 years. I have interest in the CL II but you mentioned the exterior width of the front wheel is 35 mm. If I remember correctly, my bike can accommodate up to a 33 mm tire width. And so what is your impression, given the wheel extend approx 1 inch less from the edge of the tire, would that allow these wheels to be installed? Hope this inquiry makes sense. Thanks again

I noticed a slight difference from the 2021 CL wheels vs the newer late 2022 CL2 wheels.. 1)so-called tubeless ready(as if the 2021 version wasn't) 2)newer lighter dtswiss 350 hub 3)they went w straight pull spokes vs the older ones that had j spokes 4)They got rid of the wind tunnel label on the wheels 5)comes with a 32t ratchet vs the older ones that came w 18t ratchets(most of us changed then to 54t anyways)

I have the Alpinist CLII wheel set . Same hubs and spokes as the Rapides and I don’t feel like I’m missing that much compared to the CLX. My wallet thanks me for saving a fat $G. The wheels are light and nimble and climb like dream. I know I know, there are other comparable and even cheaper wheels that are discusses on this channel, frequently, but I’m perfectly happy with my buying decision. 😊

hell yea, the cls are an insane value and i hope consumers see that, especially for brand whores as well who like to match there wheels to the bike, but they can at least feel good riding somethign that they know got there value for it

Done the same with the rapide’s. There might be more affordable brands out there but I’ve learnt my lesson and I’ll stick with recognised brands now for peace of mind.

Another great video with all information to decide what wheels to buy. Biggest difference imo are the spokes, but i'm shure nobody can really tell the diffence in speed/wattage in real life use. So i'll go with the CL. Btw a quick question, would it be a good idea just buying the rear wheel and using the front stock C38 wheel which comes with the Expert SL7? I do not like cross wind sensitivity.

Had the Rapide CLs and loved them. Noticed the CL II front wheel has less spokes to it but the weight limit stayed the same. Would that just be down to any updated construction?

Another great video. Specailized does not offer a standard for those rims. Last years rim came with 240 hubs and this year the 180. Those two hubs are different. More more I feel that Specailized and roval take customers for granted and I do t like it

yea it is weird, but I think from the get go they should have came with ceramic bearings but they probably got such a big push back from the consumers about it. that they had to change it..... whether you believe ceramic works or not, if your buying a companies top tier racing wheel for almost 3,000 it should hands down come with ceramic bearings.

What I understand is that the CLX 1 and CL 1 were supposed to be tubeless but after Sagan had an incident with them, they decided to market them as none tubeless to avoid recalls or safety issues on users and posible lawsuits.

The 350 and 370LN are reliable hubs..plus you can change ratchets out from 18t to 36t to 54t...easy maintenance.

Are the gen 1 also 35mm wide and 51mm deep for the front and 30mm wide, 60mm deep rear? My SL7 came with these wheels which I believe are CL 2. I put ceramics in myself.

@@kellrockets101 If my SL7 I bot 4-5 months ago came with Gen1, then im happy with them as I dont care to go tubeless that the CL2 now feature. My SL7 is faster than my SL6 which came with CL 50 wheels. Im still getting use to the SL7 w sram force axs, I changed the cranks and cassette to red. 7 is slightly heavier than my 6 with di2 Ultegra.

They spec the bikes with 700x26c And that’s what I rode with them in the past but a lot of my customers immediately swap them out for 28s

How do you recognize a cl (previous model) from a cl 2 current model) I mean visually? In the website is hard to find close up pictures. I ask since a local guy is selling a pair but all I see it says is Rapide CL 622x21 therefore nowhere says the number/version 1or 2

You can tell because the older ones have j-bend spokes vs the new ones have a straight pull spoke set up..also the graphics on the hub look different..the newer hub saying "dtswiss 350" isn't a sticker and is painted on vs the older hub which was a sticker that said dtswiss 350. The newer wheels are slightly lighter..i honestly doubt guys like you and I can feel that small difference in weight..lol

just get a ARC 1400 or 1100 , very little differences in terms of hubs and spokes and they are 1000 dollars cheaper

I will say this, I dont recommend doing it, but also I have seen tons of people do at there own risk in there own garage make the 1s tubeless and are holding up fine....but I do not recomendlol
