Thanks to the universe that Colm lives in the time when the technologies allow to record his singing and provide access to a variety of people. Just imagine that even 60-70 years ago he could have sung in his town pub, and only his neighbours had listened to him.

I love to see people falling in love with the rich musical tradition of my homeland! Alan Doyle is one of the most prominent musicians from Newfoundland these days, but there's an incredibly deep and wonderful pool of musical talent from us Newfies. The first best part is the 6 year old in my house giggling and dancing to this! The second best part is the three part harmony at the end! The third jumps in like your best friend at the pub who throw his arms around you and hits the high note while everyone stares with their mouths agape! Wonderfully done!! So fun!

The most amazing thing about this video, is that Colm managed to use four tracks to be a one-man barbershop quartet. I think it is called "ring tone" or something, the effect that four properly-pitched voices, usually male voices simply because it works more easily with lower voices, can give where it kinda dances around the proper note and sounds amazing.

This was oddly healing to listen to. I don't usually expect that from this kind of song. I used to sing. But been going through some stuff and it's been years since I felt like singing to any real extent, at least anything happy. But this song has been stuck in my head for days, and rather than getting annoying, it's seeping out in humming, whistling, etc. Haven't noticed myself feeling like this in a long time.
