@@elliotthood1719 yea, the only reason he isn't better than rowan is that you can't do that kinda stuff for free. but literally 1 mana for paying 1-2 mana for big carddraw, extra turns, ect. and you never need to worry about some joker with a lightning bolt like you do with rowan

Point of clarification if she has haste your opponents will not get priority before she can activate. Same thing as with planeswalkers or casting sorceries after young pyromancer. It's the summoning sickness and setup necessary (haste enabler and life outlets) that is really holding her back not the sorcery speed activation. So the line would be (with something like thousand year elixer) pay ~4-5 life, cast her, she resolves hold Priority and activate her. Then all your spells cost 4-5 less storm off which should be stupid easy with the right setup. With fast cedh mana she's gonna be gnarly. I doubt she's top tier in cedh but she's gonna at least be viable. Reducing the cost of ad nauseum...

I will mention though that the sorcery is limiting when they have to do something before activating her. So if you pay life, opponent can respond by killing the Commander but the trick is that you PROBABLY don't want to pay 39 life into it.

Reanimate, Burnt offering and Sacrifice are the cards for Rowan. Not all cards in the deck need to eat you life.

so as I understand it, the life loss discount is set when the ability resolves, so technically if you lose life at instant speed you can have the ability resolve for more than when you tapped it not that that's gonna matter too much, but it's good to note

how I see this deck is that is is basically running Birgi as your commander but now you got Black that medallion effect can make your fetch + shock turn Ad Nauseum into BB to cast and the rest is pretty much GG from there

Painter's Servant is sooooo good in this deck, makes all of your artifacts cost nothing (turns them into red/black spells) and gives potential for a few eldrazi's if you really want to play off of Painter's Servant
