Some of you are misunderstanding. They aren't talking about Mahindra as a "small startup". They are talking about all of the after market parts companies that jump on the Mahindra opportunity.

@@FauziNomad I agree. It's a pretty large turn off. Now their only selling point is their simple but stout drivetrain. Only the mechanically knowledgeable will buy them based on this information. I bought a new Wrangler, in 1995, a basic A, 5 speed 2.5, no radio, vinyl top, windows and half doors, that I drove daily for 8 years and 80,000 miles, all for $13,400!! . When I traded it in, later on for a 4x4 Dakota, I received $7,000!!! All I ever needed to do is add black rock wheels and oversized 31’ tires, with Bilstein shocks. Sumit Yadav Don't get me wrong... American companies don't want to recognize there were civilizations before america and English came from England to India long before the pilgrims found America. Jeep was licenced to Mahindra under Willies Jeep way before 2nd world war had started and by 1947 Mahindra who were also building Tractors for International Harvestors and engines , started mass production of Willies Jeep in India. In the past 70 years it has become established in defence, police, cattle, poultry, farms and aggriculture. And only now they have gone global and into American Agriculture industry markets aswell. Big 3 american automobile manfrs may not like it, but we did allow them to enter Indian markets. Ford apparently took up the challenge to provide very good quality expensive ford focus cars and ford titanium SUV's.

@AV8R_14 жыл бұрын
The “I’d buy one if it had a plate“ argument mostly comes from people who live in areas where they can’t use the ROXOR anywhere but on private property. I live in Connecticut, and we don’t have anywhere we can legally use any ATV or side-by-side. We have to use them on private land, or haul them out of state. The ROXOR is just sitting and rusting at Powersports dealers all over Connecticut. They can’t give them away. Even the out of state trail systems we can take a RZR or other side by side to, are limited to 2000 pound GVWR vehicles, which means you also can’t use the ROXOR on those trails either. You guys are having fun, because you have hundreds if not thousands of miles of open desert to playing. But here in the Northeast, if it didn’t have a plate, or you didn’t have 100 acres of farmland, there is almost no where you can legally take it and use it.
@jaixc2 жыл бұрын
Technically speaking, you can buy these and have a title made for them to be legal for the road.. provided you put a horn, turn signals, DOT approved windshield with windshield wipers, and a lit up license plate holder and pass your states inspection to be legal. It already has DOT approved seatbelts, head and tail lights that also have a backup light.. Dirt Legal the website explains how you can get these legal with a motorcycle plate you have to use on some UTV's, they explain a lot. Not that I have actually used their service as of yet, but a lot of other Roxor owners that I've watched on KZbin, and some local owners who had made their Roxor's legal have went this route. So no, you do not need private land to make them useful, just will take roughly another grand or a little more in parts and title service to make it legal in the US to get a plate.
@AV8R_12 жыл бұрын
@@jaixc I live in CT. I talked to dirt legal well over a year ago if not two. There is no legal way to get any UTV “street legal” registration in CT unless it is registered as a farm vehicle, and is only driven from the farm to the nearest gas station and back. Some suggested registering it out of state, but CT has been going after out of state registrations too. If you can’t prove that you own property out of state and the vehicle resides and operates in that state for more than six months out of the year, they assume you are registering it out of state for tax evasion purposes and they pursue charges to that effect.
@jaixc2 жыл бұрын
@@AV8R_1 That sucks. Leave it to CT to make sure nobody can drive anything useful from off road to on road. I live in WV, they're pretty relaxed here for that, as long as I said above you do all of that and have it state inspected, and it passes, it can have a regular vehicle tag put on it. But they have a riot for the taxes here, it's like you're paying for taxes everywhere.. personal taxes for the vehicle, then inspections, tags, and mandatory mid coverage on anything within 5 years of the current year to be legal. Not to mention tags aren't cheap for your vehicle here, but with all that said, you can have it legal here, just is expensive. Though they're not as bad as TN with their "tire tax" annually.

I was wondering when this Roxor upgrade video would show up. My upgrade path would be much less comprehensive than this one. I would do the locking hubs, lunchbox or selectable lockers for front and rear, windshield wipers, heater and half doors. Add a wench. Then run it for a while and then probably add the turn signals. Maybe add some slightly lifted softer springs and shocks for additional articulation. Then I would stop there. And enjoy it. Maybe add the tune to give more power and speed capability. I do not need to do 70 mph nor do I need a rock bouncer type of strength. The stock driveline should hold up as good as I need it because I will not be going crazy fast or crazy terrain off road.

Jake Seiner I like the looks and size of the YJ and the TJ better. Plus wranglers bring pretty high prices in my neck of the woods. I look at the for sale listings for these on a regular basis. I just saw a rare inexpensive stock YJ wrangler with a 5 speed and broken 4 banger which would probably be a good choice for me. Toss in a newish 4 banger and make sure the rest of it sorta works and go enjoy. It’s wet and a bit dog eared but not crusty rusty, which makes it about right.
