For well over 30 years, this song still gives me chills and stops me in my tracks!!! And yes, the dancer/model/actress is gorgeous. Her name is Sophie Ward.

The whole "Avalon" album is a mood. Fantastic.

Roxy Music always had beautiful women on their album covers. Bryan Ferry is the singer and his solo albums continued with similar style and grace. Can't go wrong.

This song has been on my main playlist for many years now. It's one of those hauntingly beautiful songs that sounds as good today as it did back in 1982. I had not seen the video for decades. I had almost forgotten how well it was produced. Take care....

They were so influential and fantastic. Try “Love is the drug” then Bryan Ferry has the most beautiful song with David Gilmore on guitar called “Is your love strong enough”

YES! The closing credits song from Ridley Scott's "Legend." I love that film!

You should try Viginia Plain from Roxy or sympathy for the devil from Bryan ferry.

To the best of my recollection, I only know two hits from Roxy Music: "Love Is the Drug," and especially "More Than This," which is GREAT. And for whatever reason, "More Than This" is tied in my mind to "True," by Spandau Ballet. Also a SUPER song. They were probably radio hits around the same time. As for the lady in the video, she's very pretty, and she has a classic look of the 80s, which is like a Nagel print. You will see that look a lot in the 80s.

Many good songs, but the first two albums still are the most interesting when Eno was still part of the group. More experimental and sounds we had never heard before. But Ferry's voice stands out. Listen to the mature Ferry live with a cover of Neil Young's "Like a hurricane" in Lyon 2016! (and with Jorja Chalmers on sax as a bonus!)

Bossanova actually, not reggae. He sings it in the lyrics.

I must say it has been humorous watching you verbally walking on eggshells. I’m from an era when people had thinker skin and wouldn’t think twice about commenting on a beautiful woman in a beautiful dress. Back then, it was thought of as a compliment. Check out Roxy Music’s “The Main Thing” -1982, then I’ll suggest some stronger stuff. Keep laughing, that’s why I come here. The world needs more laughter.

They had a cool laid back vibe for the most part. More Than This stands out as a great classic. One particular song that isn’t the least bit mellow is Both Ends Burning.

The question, "if you were stranded on a deserted island, which one album would you pick to have with you?" For me it's this one, Avalon by Roxy Music. Every song on the album is a vibe, mysterious, elusive, sensuous and rhythmic. And the soundscape overall is so calming unlike most of the 80s music at that time. Bryan Ferry is genre all his own.

Super mellow. I always thought Toyota should have tried to use it when they introduced their Avalon model. It would have matched their advertising it as a luxury model. Edit: you should also try "kiss and tell". It's the lead singer, Bryan Ferry, solo. Faster paced, a head bobber.

This was a huge part of wave of sexy romantic club music, Sade was also in there. Bossy Nova Dance music is the base of this music. It’s ok to notice she was sexy and beautiful- believe me as a young woman in the clubs at the time, there was some effort into achieving just that effect

Sad you have to apologise for thinking a woman is beautiful. Had the privilege of seeing RM the other year, and of course they did this, one of my favourite songs. The backing vocals are out of this world.

Great song by a great band. Give their song "More Than This" a go , I think you'll love it. Don't worry too much about your comments offending anyone , if you find a girl in a video attractive there is nothing wrong in saying so , if anyone has a problem with that then they are overly woke !!!

Reggae? What? No, no. Not Reggae. Reggae is Bob Marley, Steel Pulse, UB40, Third World, and others. Roxy Music and Bryan Ferry are contemporary Rock/Pop with jazz overtones, perhaps. Bryan's persona and vocal style comes from a classic "crooner"/jazz influence, on the slower, more romantic songs, while still being able to rock out on Roxy songs that are much more Proto-Punk/New Wave and even Prog Rock. Now, having said that, could "Avalon" be transposed for Reggae? Sure it could, but it is not primarily a Reggae song and Roxy Music has never been known for that genre.
