The rabbit hole of amazing songs is deep between Roxy Music and Bryan Ferry- Slave To Love, Kiss and Tell, Don't Stop the Dance, Love is the Drug. Ferry is the epitome of class and always looks GQ.

Great tune but let's do some really great Roxy Music...i.e. Out Of The Blue, Virginia Plain, Do The Strand, A Song For Europe, and so much really great Roxy Music, especially my all time favourite Roxy tune, Mother Of Pearl, not only the best Roxy tune but one of the greatest tunes of ever. Saw Roxy a few times way back in the day...Great band, great shows.

this is the title song from roxy music's final album. AVALON is the mythical realm of king arthur and the band wanted the LP to embody, reflect that ethereal, other-worldly feel. when this album was released in late '82 it's lush, romantic sound stunned the industry - a masterpiece ❤ if you want more romantic, suave roxy music try "oh yeah" and "same old scene" and bryan ferry's solo single "slave to love" - OMG so sultry!

"Sublime" is the word you're looking for. _Avalon_ is perfection, one of the best albums of the 1980s, & one of the best produced. The best part of this video is your seated dancing, with swaying similar to Bryan Ferry's moves. You're feeling it right. You can't go wrong with Roxy Music: "Dance Away" (1979) "Love Is The Drug" (1975) "Pyjamarama" (1974) Check out Bryan Ferry solo, he kept the vibe going: "Don't Stop The Dance" (1985) "Kiss & Tell" (1987)

Avalon is a mythical island from the legend of king Arthur. It's where the sword, Excalibur, was made. Basically it's talking about that dreamy place you go to when it's all quiet with someone special. A fantasy.

Let’s not forget Brian Eno - Sound technician, keys, and reel to reel mixing. Mr. Eno was one of the original members of RM. Since his departure from the band in 1973, he’s enjoyed a successful solo career with his Ambient sound. Although my favorite albums is the first after his leaving Roxy. ‘Here Come the Warm Jets’ & ‘Taking Tiger Mountain’. Brian Eno is hailed as one of the best music producers. He’s produced records for: for Talking Heads, U2, Devo, Coldplay, Massive Attack, He’s worked musically with: David Bowie, Genesis, John Cale, amount others. *cool factoid: Eno created that little piece of music-….the sound of the Windows 95 start up. One of the best experiences in my life is that when I was in my 20s I got to see Bryan Ferry in concert, I believe he was in his early 50s then, but he still sent me head over heels. A fun early Roxy song is "Love is the drug". Completely different sound. Bryan Ferry is probably most famous for his song "Slave to Love", so if you haven't heard it, I would recommend it. Avalon was released May 1982 - 1970's Roxy Music was a very different sound. The sax player is Andy Mackay - check out his solo albums, 'In Search of Eddie Riff' and 'Resolving Contradictions'.

You must check out the live version of this great song, I think it was at the Hammersmith Odeon that the band reformed and performed.

One of the greatest bands ever. So cool and decadent. Listen to Ladytron from their earlier days in the Early 70's. Back when they had Brian Eno on synthesizer. Also songs like Street Life and Out of the Blue. Bryan Ferry are still going strong. 76 years old and still touring with his band. Have also made a lot of great solo albums. Love This Island Earth. In 1999 he released As Time Goes By. Old classics in the Ferry Vibe

The lady doing the background vocals was actually heard by Ferry on a Sunday morning I think walking through the studio when he heard her in a next door studio, a Haitian singer Yanick Étienne.

"More than this" next Jay. As mentioned below, the whole Avalon album is a dream. You need to take time out and listen to, or react to the whole album one track at a time. Thanks for posting this reaction.

Brian Ferry is one of our many talented immense singers. Avalon was a great song and the album of the same name was. Also his song "More than this" is brilliant too. All the best Jay from Liverpool UK 👍🇬🇧
