@KingOfTek First off maybe you shouldn't put words in my mouth, I never called him a coward, those are YOUR words. Second, I would never call anybody willing to step in a ring a coward regardless of their boxing talent. The worst boxer in the world willing to step in the ring is not a coward. Third, it's pretty common knowledge that Jones was greatly impacted by the Gerald McClellan tragedy and became extremely cautious in the ring. Anything else I need to clarify to prevent more ridiculous comments from you.
@Mistachill
@Mistachill 2 жыл бұрын
@KingOfTek Again, please don't tell me what I said when my words are posted. I said "Roy acting hard on TV but in the ring cared more about not getting hit than delivering punches." Roy had a very defensive style and didn't take a lot of chances in the ring, particularly in the later stages of his prime, especially when fighting dangerous fighters. Which, by the way, there's nothing wrong with his style, especially when you have a questionable chin.

After watching this twice, I see how real Roy Jones is. He told the truth, he didn't laugh before he said anything in order to come up with a way to phrase it in his mind. He just spoke what he wanted to say clearly and concisely. That level of bravery is not common so the interviewer had to do a double-take because he can't relate to that fearless mentality. Roy is the greatest.

Won't even take a 3 pc and a soda. One soda (pop) is all it takes. Dude has issues. Seems like he does "cowardly" things. Real people who will take on anybody don't really have fear like others have. He is one reason why some people don't watch this show. Some people are annoying as interviewers. One thing to go over the issue to help clarify things to help people become better human beings but he just seemed dumbfounded.

@@vincelosito215 in bare knuckles, Roy would destroy just about anyone... And he could make it as ugly as he wanted it to be. However, in the world of MMA, Roy would get fucked up badly. Assuming he failed to learn the intricate details of the clinch game, wrestling, jiu jitsu, muay Thai style kickboxing, Dutch style kickboxing, and a little tae kwon do (punching, kicking, & distancing w/ maybe a little judo or hapkido mixed in along the way is the way my Master taught it. (I love hapkido, btw.) or even dabble in learning a good hard style of karate like tang soo do, then I'm afraid it would be curtains for Roy, pretty quickly too. Though there is no doubt in my mind that Roy Jones, Jr would fight a top MMA fighter in the streets of His hometown of Pensacola, FL or in the Octagon at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. That's a true to life, dyed in wool 'tuff guy' coming to you right there in Roy Jones Jr. Approach with great caution 😈😳🤛🤕💪😠🥋. I've heard he's a very nice guy, but I still wouldn't take my chances:) or raise any conversational topics that might possibly piss him off. The dude is psychotic... Doesn't care if he dies & probably doesn't care if you do either. I'll never forget watching him get ROBBED of the gold medal by the Korean fighter in the Olympics in the worst decision I've ever seen in boxing. Well, I don't blame the Korean fighter for the piss poor decision, I do, however, blame the shitty, blind judges. Wtf fight were the watching 👀?

kpf63954 That’s assuming that in the world of MMA, he fought a guy that has mastered multiple disciplines, and therefore has the ability to outmatch an elite boxer, which is actually very rare in Major MMA promotions to this date. Most top guys excel in one department, can maybe do some good in other disciplines, but for the most part do not have a balanced skill set where all their attributes are elite level. Jon Jones for example has excellent kickboxing and wrestling, but lacks basic standup boxing technique, Conor McGregor has excellent stand up abilities, but lacks in wrestling, stamina, and frankly everything else, Khabib is a monster wrestler, but his overall striking ability is comparable to an amateur. I’d say Roy’s chances against an MMA fighter is a little better than what you’re talking about. That’s not to say if you put him against say Wanderlei/Anderson Silva, Fedor, or Mirko Cro Cop, then sure he’d be toast, but I do believe that elite/god tier level boxers are definitely thrown under the bridge far too often in the grand scheme of things.
