Roy Leep, pioneering WTVT meteorologist, passes away

Sad to hear this..I grew up with my parents watching Roy Leep as well as Leslie Spencer on Big13 when they had the morning show Pulse Plus and Breakfast Beat with Ernie Lee...My dad only trusted Roy Leep and 13 for weather as well as 13 for news..I don't think I ever saw my dad watch any other new station but 13!!

I watched Roy for many years. He was great. Channel 13 is also great for allowing so much time to his retirement on the last day. Also John Wilson, and soon to be Kelly Ring. Enjoy your retirement Kelly !

My father worked for him for years- eventually had to leave to a different job because Roy would yell at and abuse his coworkers… he said Roy would go on screaming tirades berating his workers. My dad said it literally put him constantly on edge working for him. Horrible man, he should NOT be glorified in any way.

Remember Ernie Lee in the mornings would say at the end, "Get out and go fishing cause it's gooooood fer ya!!" (exactly as he said it too) Good ole days..When Roy Leep was around and paul Delagatto still had all his hair!! Just kidding, I'd give my left Kidney for Paul if he asked!!
