@@ConanObrien22 Parts of it could be, but you can tell the drums are live because there are just a few little differences. Orbison's band was called The Candymen and I think that is Robert Nix on drums. John Rainey Adkins is probably one of the guitar players. The Candymen went through a bunch of lineup changes and eventually some of the guys ended up forming the original lineup of the Atlanta Rhythm Section. They had one hit on their own "Georgia Pines" and a fairly good album.

The other guitar player is Billy Sanford. He is a ledendary Nashville session player. I had the good fortune of having him available to teach me some guitar licks in the mid 1960s. There was a gathering to pay tribute to him at the Country Music Hall of Fame today. It was great to see him again! Rock on Billy!

Life was so cool back in '65. Mustangs, Camaros, Hot Rods, and people were personal. We actually talked to each other. Strangers talked to strangers. It was heaven. ABC Wide World of Sports, surfers, stingray bikes. So cool.

how cool is Roy Orbison. He just has that look. No dancing or prancing around the stage. Just amazing image. And great singing. And great music. It's not just that he is cool; he has cool - he possesses it: it is his own to do what he wants with.

8 Oct 1964, Roy Orbison was at No.1 on the UK singles chart with 'Oh Pretty Woman', his third UK No.1. The title was inspired by Orbison's wife Claudette interrupting a conversation to announce she was going out; when Orbison asked if she was okay for cash, his co-writer Bill Dees interjected "A pretty woman never needs any money."

This song is GENIUS! Just verses and a bridge. Dude, just killed it in the 1960s. Great songwriter!
@donniev81813 жыл бұрын
The song got its origin by accident. Roy's wife came in as he was writing and said she was going shopping and Roy asked if she needed any money and his writing partner said "Roy now you know pretty women don't need money" and that's how the writing process of pretty woman began.
