I've met Roy so many times in Ashbourne, Derbyshire. Just a regular guy. Shops at Sainsburys, goes out for a curry and very down to earth. You couldn't meet a nicer guy that has been right to the top. He lives in a converted pub in the Peak District where he has a custom made recording studio there. Always wears his rose tinted glasses. Really nice person.

He’s a Brummie, we’re all down to earth 😊

The converted pub that Roy lives in is the former Howard's Arms in Cubley. I've met Roy on several occasions in Holmfirth when he's played at the Picturedrome. He really is a genuine down to earth guy and a true gentleman who always has time to talk to his fans.

Probably only 18. He was just 15 when he started in music. He went to art school but was expelled in 1964! He then joined The Falcons and went on to co-found The Move. I suppose you can't keep talent like his down, he is naturally gifted. God bless him!

@@Dina6279 Sounds very similar to Lennon's teens. He was also thrown out of art school and then concentrated more on the music. Both of them became talented songwriters.

@herbert9241 Жыл бұрын
Exactly. Vocal harmony is a vital quotient of the original studio recording and, while the backing singers here are on fine form, the brass section kind of sh!ts all over them. Still got everyone on their feet and having a good time, though, so can't knock that.

What the f........??? I just came here from the original. This is one of my earliest musical memories. Me playing in the garden with schoolfriends, climbing trees, "borrowing' " my dad's tools from the shed, scrumping apples from neighbours gardens (now reclassified as theft) and ultimately this song playing whilst my mum was doing the washing up. The carefree balmy summers of the 70's. Now, it's just a fight to live, eat and not be called a racist. I'm so grateful and blessed that I lived though the 70's to 90's, If I die now, it was worth it.. ;)
