Hi it´s called counter-rotating propellers, The principle advantage of it is to balance propeller torque effects thus eliminating any problems associated with a critical engine.

From Australia. Still not as good as the ever reliable C130, I have spent hundreds of hours being flown around in the A, E and H models. Sadly discharged before we purchased the J Model.
