Great video mate very easy to follow, any chance of another vid of changing the coolant and purging the rad as bike needs to be lifted 4' at the front end.
@TonysGarage_UK Жыл бұрын
Thanks.. I'll look into that. I'm hoping to do a full service soon.

Good vid. When I did it, I flushed what little old (crap) grease was there out with a bit of Gunk spray before re greasing. It is a lot easier if you remove the horncast and mudguard as one unit.

I 've been told by the mechanic that I take my scooter to that its notchy steering so does the top race / bearing need replacing, Tony ?And do you special tool to tackle the the job myself ? As always excellent vid
@TonysGarage_UK Жыл бұрын
If it's notchy already, I'd say replace the bearings. A big open-ended spanner or big adjustable is needed..like on the video. Think it mentions the size needed.

Ive done the bearings, they were very dry like yours. Thing is now going to take a bit of getting used to as steering is very responsive now. Thanks for your video again mate 👍@@TonysGarage_UK

Were you not tempted just to fit a new bearing? If the original bearing felt stiff it's possible it was worn through lack of grease.
@TonysGarage_UK Жыл бұрын
Yes. I was very tempted, but I felt these were fine and just needed regreasing. There was no notchiness to them, which would indicate wear. A new set is £50 at the moment and is in my 'basket ready 😄

personally i found it easier to take off the horn casting with the front mud guard,saves getting down on the ground and fiddling with the 2 screws,evryones different thats my way

Yes, you are right in saying that, as have a few others. I think it is a better way now too. Thanks for commenting

@@TonysGarage_UK They say they will loosen the bearing and grease - let's see!
@AsiaGuy202523 күн бұрын
@@TonysGarage_UK You advise grease or replace? They are taking the bike back to "lossen" the nut and put some grease on the bearing. I'd say it's verging on the dangerous.
@TonysGarage_UK23 күн бұрын
Mine was quite new and just needed regreasing as I caught it early. They should have a good look at the bearings first.
@AsiaGuy202523 күн бұрын
@@TonysGarage_UK@TonysGarage_UK Thanks - I have only done 27 kilos. LOL. They will regrease before I continue - it's dangerous, I think.

Really useful video, I do like the Royal Alloys but like your Tee shirt I ride Vespa and Gilera Runner VXR 200, it's very much like doing it on a Lambretta, thanks for sharing Ktf J 🛵
