About Royal Blood
Brighton duo Royal Blood comprising drummer Ben Thatcher and bassist/vocalist Mike Kerr formed at the beginning of 2013. They quickly made their presence known, with pounding drums and heavily distorted bass guitar defining characteristics of their ferocious blues-rock sound. The band gained many plaudits early in their career, touring with the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Iggy Pop and Foo Fighters, before going on to win Best British Group at the Brits in 2015 receiving their trophy from their musical hero and admirer Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page.
Their catalogue boasts the Mercury Prize nominated self-titled debut album released in 2014 that spawned hits such as "Out of the Black, "Little Monster:, "Come On Over" and "Figure it Out", as well as their second successive UK number one album "How Did We Get So Dark?" released in 2017 which featured "Lights Out" and "I Only Lie When I Love You".

I honestly can't stop listening to this song. Very mind blowing how a bass guitar, a set of drums, and nothing else can sound this great. And the portion of the song that begins at 2:28 and ends at 3:15 is so simplistic yet so intoxicating to hear. If you don't bop your head during that part of this song, something is wrong with you. I'm starting to appreciate modern Rock music a lot more now and I honestly think these guys are the definition of a Rock revival. They're original and sound like no other band or solo musician and that proves that they put some true effort into their stuff.Absolutely flawless in my opinion.

Royal Blood is definitely one of the best rock bands right now and I love Highly Suspect, but I personally think HS's 2nd album was totally lacking. I loved their first album though. Also, I love Lydia, it should totally be a intro song, but Serotonia shouldn't be a starter song. Maybe Bloodfeather, Mister Asylum and Lost instead of Serotonia. Those are all my personal opinions, but considering rock music now that's fresh and not from bands from the 90's/2000's, Highly Suspect is definitely one of the best rock bands right now. Yes, despite what I said about their second album.

They're awesome at feel. Lot of their songs are very very simplistic on the technicality side, but there's an art to playing great simplistic grooves and riffs. Lot of great players just play out of their minds, there's a difference being a great guitarist and a great songwriter. And Royal Blood just stays in that pocket of what makes them successful

Another thing that’s ingenious about this band, is they found a way for like a three-piece band to actually still have the hard rock sound while playing live! Like when there’s just guitar and bass and a guitarist decides to solo they could just hit a distortion pedal and make their guitar sound like this During the solo! I’m telling you it’s fucking genious!!!!!!
