Clarification: All Royal Enfield bikes are made in India. The 650 was developed and designed in UK but made in India. To best of our knowledge RE doesn’t have any factory outside India, only an R&D centre in UK.

I have an Interceptor 650 bought in march 2020. I have a daily commute of around 60-70 kms. Mostly Highways. Amazing bike for these conditions. Just a few tweaks and you're ready to go for a long trip: A plusher seat, handlebar raisers(aftermarket) and panniers/saddlebags. And yous should be aware that being spoke rimmed, the tires have tubes. So, if possible, learn to fix a puncture or try one of those aftermarket tubeless conversion kits just for your peace of mind. You do get 1 year of RE Road side assistance free with the bike. But, I've heard that they take a long time to arrive. Considering these issues, would I buy this bike again? In a heartbeat because of that engine. It won't give you any trouble except when you want it to and that lovely crackle and pop sound when it gets going. As the guy in the video said, people look at it a lot wherever you go. Till now, I haven't been for a long trip with it yet. But, will do it as soon as lockdown is lifted.

I'm able to buy ANY motorcycle I want but... I bought the interceptor based on it's reported qualities and because it's the best looking thing I've ever seen. Styling perfection. The only downside is what I call the 50 miles duration seat.

That is true Burt, the seat on the Interceptor is even worse than the one on GT. Although we found GT also requires a seat upgrade for longer rides.

Nice review, thank you. For the money it is a best value bike here in US only $6000. I am still trying to decide between Interceptor and GT model....tough choice. GT looks much more sexier but riding position a little too aggressive and might not be comfy for longer rides.

We never really had any problem with knees hitting the cylinders in over two weeks of testing it. It can be irritating initially but it doesn’t create any problem while riding.

Motorcycles like GT can be very subjective for some people because of their sporty riding position. Generally saying it will be tiring for everyone on a 30 km ride is very incorrect. I have ridden GT a lot for days on longer rides and didn’t feel uncomfortable that I would hate it but on the other hand a friend finds it extreme... so it is not as simple... Take multiple test rides, try and find out urself how u feel... My opinion is both are can be equally good for a 100 km ride but yes by default, Interceptor is more comfortable. Cheers Nitin

Nice video... a few doubts 1. I am 5’6 and 62kgs...relatively thin will the bike be very heavy for me 2. They say it’s clip ons are uncomfy for long rides...is it really that uncomfortable for long rides ? I don’t plan on changing or modifying the bike 3. And this is going to be my first motorcycle is there a better option...I know the interceptor is more practical but I love the design and the single seat of this bike

Hi Pradyumma, 1. Yes it can be heavy but I always recommend taking few test rides and understanding it urself. 2. See it depends on your preference, generally speaking these clip-ons do become uncomfortable on rides longer than 50-60 km but many riders don't mind it. I have ridden the GT and Interceptor (with clipons) for multiple full days while reviewing and shooting and I did not have any discomfort. If you prefer sitting upright then you will not feel comfortable on it for longer rides. 3. You have lot of good options as a first motorcycle, in fact buying a lighter, smaller motorcycle will be much smarter move. It will help you develop you skills and confidence quicker than bigger bike like the 650. You can look at the Duke 250 or Husqvarna 250, Dominar, Jawa etc... depending on your riding style. cheers, Nitin

Hi, I think Interceptor 650 will be better for long distance touring but if you like the styling of GT then you can get the Interceptor’s handlebar and also get Royal Enfield’s Touring seat. I am unaware of any wobbling issues in case of handlebar replacement. Cheers Nitin
