Lovely tribute Ian. Sounded like a nice fellow, with a cheeky sense of humour. Its funny you should mention the nagging feeling you get when you're out riding. I came home after half an hour the other day coz of all the bicycles out at the weekend, hogging the narrow roads. It didn't feel safe overtaking them. Stick to a Midweek ride from now on 👍 All the best ❤️

Dad's with a good sense of humor is worth its weight in gold. My dad's sense of humor is non existent. He is always a serious person. But a good dad, just not to joke with. Most of the time..... all of the time, he doesn't get it.
@ianhughesroyalenfieldАй бұрын
Thanks Blake. Dad was quite dry, some didn’t get the joke, or banter. I have that trait too, sometimes it can be taken as sarcasm, but not meant that way…..purely banter.

Thankyou for a most enjoyable video Ian, great to hear you speaking with such passion for your late father, family are most important and after the passing of mum in June, things seem strange now and what the undertaker said to me when finalising mum funeral about being the matriarch of the family certainly makes me think, we were lucky in having a minister who did both my parents funerals and spoke with passion because she knew them in life, all the best to you and your family, ride safe.

A nicely done tribute for your Dad.. we bike riders can relate to a solo ride out to clear your head, don't matter where your going.. You clearly respected him and he meant a lot to you- that's nice.. My father had no interest in vehicles, and in truth, we didn't get on, so its nice that you did ! I'm still awaiting my Guerrilla, but am looking forward to trips out in 2025- my daughter lives in Liverpool, and I'v never been to Oulton park, so that might have to be made into a weekend when there's some bike racing on .. Ilive near the Humber bridge, so will post some photo's up on the Guerrilla group of some scenic spots of North Lincolnshire.. Keep on riding and doing your video's .. All the best- Brian.

Nice tribute to Dad Ian, lost my dad in 1992, he signed reluctantly the HP agreement for my first bike, a new Honda 250 Superdream ! I remember long before mobile phones calling him on a pay phone from Glenridding at 5am to wake him up for his 12 hour day shift, I’d gone riding on a warm summers night.

Sorry for your loss bud. I know it was a while ago, but I only just saw this. I like to think that although you were unaware, he was proudly sat pillion on his final ride with his son - possibly laughing to himself whilst he took the piss out of your "unreliable" Royal Enfield. Just make sure to check under the seat for an envelope full of tenner-sized BSA brochure clippings. He sounds like he was some guy.

Thank you. It’s still hard to get used to, his funeral was last Tuesday. The Crem was packed which was nice, with many coming back to the wake, just chatting about him and his antics, he was quite a character. Not only have I lost my dad, but I have lost an ally too.
