What a coincidence, I was in Bill Smiths today having a look at the new RE 350 classic and used it as an excuse to have a ride out on my Himalayan. As Mark has already commented my Himalayan seems happiest around 50 -60 mph where it can sit all day and return great mpg. The handling seems sure-footed and although the brakes are not the most powerful they are adequate for the performance. I bought mine for the single tracks and back lanes and had a great ride back from Chester through Beeston village and Eaton today.

If it was just 20 kg lighter this bike would be epic. They used to be able to make good ADV bikes below 180 kg but nowadays all the manufacturers seem to have forgotton this trait. At least on the EU market unfortunately. In South America Yamaha and Honda still have some great offerings in this segment.

I've got the Euro 4 version of the Himilayan and for touring the single track lanes of North Wales it's ideal. You're quite right the bike is comfortable to 60 mph and definitely not for 70 mph motorways!

Hello. I use my Himalayan 2022 for commuting every day in Germany and I live it. Great bike. A question regarding oil consumption. I am facing 100 ml oil consumption in 1000 km. It is ok for me, but I'm a bit surprised, because normally for a new bike it shouldn't consume oil at all..... What is your experience ? Best regards, Stefano
