Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 in Australia

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is a really important bike for Royal Enfield - this new model is all new with lots of changes from the old bike, and it's a ripper!
This ride and video is from the Australian media launch, where we took standard bikes with standard tyres on some dodgy dirt roads in the Victorian high country.

It is good to have some technical information included in the review. For a bike that I wouldn't call very exciting... this thing is creating some excitement. Looking forward to seeing these on the roads and trails.

452 cc single Power : 40 bhp Torque: 40Nm 21 inch wheels upfront, 17 inch at the rear Water cooled 43mm USD showa forks upfront with 200mm travel Linked monoshock at the rear with 200mm travel The suspension is neither too stiff not too soft, it’s very well tuned. It’s non adjustable (I own the bike, so this is my view). I would say suspension is the USP of this bike TFT instrument cluster has excellent readability and has all the information you need. Engine is DOHC set up. Seat height is adjustable. Either 825mm or 845mm Ground clearance is 230mm I guess this covers most of the specs, if you need to know anything else, just comment and can update you.

Nice review and no one needs a 1300 adventure bike in reality 450 to 750 would be enough ,just ignore the wingeing pom comments

The KLR650 is the same price, only 7kg more and has 35% more torque. KLR is also waay more spacious in terms of the legroom.

Nearly 200kg wet is considered lightweight now is it?

Nowhere near lightweight, but he also left out a few other negatives about the bike. It was more like an advertorial compared to the MAD TV guys.

Be great if it were lighter - but the CFmoto is about the same and there aren’t many lighter adventure bikes - sure, some exotica, but on a price-to-weight equation what else is there? Lighter bikes are usually enduros.
