Bloody hell mate you were busy at the ABR. I feel guilty now! Great vid though. 👌🏍️

The ability to spin up just for fun is the only thing missing from the 411. After watching this (despite your comments on the suspension and top heaviness ) I really want to try one 🥴 You were loving it and I wanna piece of that pie 😂 Great fun ER, nice riding too 👌🏼

I think you will like it, its hard not to. I think they have really pulled this one out the bag. Cheers SB

We also did this ride, definitely a little top heavy on the set off with the camber. Better tyres for the off-road section would have been nicer, loved the bike. Royal Enfield had a great setup this year, top-notch.
@exeterriderАй бұрын
Totally agree! The line up, The tent and even their live stage was brilliant...the best there I'd say.

Very fair review. I definitely didn’t have any problem getting it upright off that stand. No not me . Never. And I wasn’t the only one on my group who didn’t either. And we most certainly weren’t helped by the guides who we were talking to while they weren’t helping with pushing us upright 😉😉😉😉. They were very helpful. I discussed it at length with one of the UN engineering team. RE really took the show seriously and they were looking for feedback. Hopefully they’ll make some changes because it’s a good proposition otherwise. They were soo brave using the tyres. I think it shows the bike in a good light!

ha, I nearly had to get help....since then I have thought that maybe it could be twisted as a good thing because if a bigger foot is fitted to the bike then it will balence out....maybe. Have you a video of youre ride on it? I dont think ive seen it?

If I was going to have a 2nd bike, it would def be that one. Great review as always mate.

Seems like a pretty competent 50/50 machine, ER. The new road based Guerrilla has the same engine and, I believe, most of the frame. Single cylinder engines are noted for their low down grunt and 450cc is a fair sized lump which will give plenty of that type of power. You obviously enjoyed it and at one stage I was wondering if you'd been munching on magic mushrooms before the ride.
@exeterriderАй бұрын
Well you have met me Jim, most people think I'm permanently on the mushrooms😂 I'm looking forward to having a play on the Guerilla, it's a really good engine for road riding so it should work well in that format...I may soon find out when I have a play. : )
@jimsadler8704Ай бұрын
@@exeterrider I'm certainly interested in the Guerrilla especially as it has a higher seat option.

Good to see that you had the chance to give the 450 a 'drash' offroad. Hows about the ABS, (having never had such a thing) If you grabbed a hanful of front brake on that slick green grass would it stop a skid/crash? The sidestand looks like it could be a nuisance whilst green laneing, often the ground's not exactly right when you have to open a gate etc. A lot of lean/weight there if the grounds not good. You mustve learned the ABR trail off by heart now, been round it several times! 😁 Good vid 👍
@ExeterCenturionАй бұрын
We’d have binned it with the front brake. Deadly tyres for the grass.
@exeterriderАй бұрын
Yes I gave it a handful, and it locks then lets go in milliseconds, on a corner it could be a problem but in a straight line I felt I could pull it back in line...then again if lucks not on you're side that day then it could end different but its quite impressive. quite right about the stand...it goes over too much and even on grass its going to be a issue....on the flip side it does mean you could get a (Big foot) welded on without having to cut the stand so thats a good way over it. I know the track well now, annoying thing is when it becomes the same old when they do have other tracks there and routes like i did on the Transalp. Still its all good fun there. I look forward to the 2025 : )
@exeterriderАй бұрын
Yes, its a shame they had those tyres on, we could only be at 50% capabuilty
@kenbrooks7794Ай бұрын
@exeterrider Thanks, as I say, I've never tried ABS. I know a lot say they don't like it, I thought there on that slicked over long grass was an ideal place for it to shine, the sort of place where you'd be on your a** if you grabbed at the front brake too hard. Cheers! 👍
@exeterriderАй бұрын
Yes overall all I only want abs on road myself. Offroad it's a pain, at least the back can be turned off which is something I guess.

I still have our ride to edit yet. I'm looking forward to that one tbh. You made my day seeing you that day. I would have been gutted if I missed you both. I think this was the Thursday I booked this one tbh. Are you both going next year?
@Stefan_trekkieАй бұрын
Steve, during the last ABR, you where on 12k subs.. Now on 22k .. You are growing tremendously. I did look at the 450 at my local dealer /no test ride available/ I've struggled to lift of the stand and to get on central stand too.. And the ride by wire system .. It's too much technology for me, love the utilitarian nature of the 411.. Personal preference. Thinking to get the scram while is still available.
@exeterriderАй бұрын
Scrams are going cheap at the moment, its a good time to buy! I do like the ride by wire tbh but off road on the wrong tyres it dosent work, if it had the right tyres then its smoother I think. Thanks Stefan
@simonchilli2088Ай бұрын
When the group came to a stop on that ride I didn't notice the rear lights were on. The indicators becoming the brake light don't stand out very much in daylight it seems to me. I think a proper rear light would be safer and more visible to drivers or riders behind bixe with that set up.
@exeterriderАй бұрын
Yes I think I'm with you on that!
@peakrider4886Ай бұрын
I think it’s important to remember that this ride out was done under specific conditions and I can recall you mentioning before about not being on off-road rider. This bike’s capability is better seen in videos by Joe Ryan or That Biker Simon, or Nathan Millward. Freshly mowed grassland may not be its forte, but as a travel and adventure bike, I think it covers nearly all eventualities that might be encountered. I’m waiting to see what updates RE does to the Himalayan for future versions, I think a taller screen as standard is needed, and I heard that the side stand issue is going to be addressed, along with some remapping of the throttle response. Version 2 might be the best one if you can wait for it.
@exeterriderАй бұрын
I still think it's a very good offroad bike myself, it just needs better tyres than the stock ones we were running and that would change everything. I can see why these tyres are stock ones and why they use them but RE should have given us better ones for the terrain we were on. Muddy grass isn't ideal for these. Yes as a travel adventure bike its superb👍 Thanks 👍🙏
@johnharris7353Ай бұрын
Don't like the top heavy thing but of course could live with it . I've never seen A RE, I'm in St Louis Missouri. My current bike is anything but top heavy, because the fuel in under the seat BMW F650Gs !

Hopfully they will be rolling out more to the U.S...Thanks for watching.

those bikes are twice as heavy and less power than a proper enduro bike , so should be treated as heavy trail bikes , nothing wrong with that ;; glad to see your having fun ;;

I think it's very obvious to compare it to the 411 which it is replacing. The question a lot of 411 owners (myself included) are asking is, should I switch from what I have to the new model. I need to try one, because I like the current one but it could do with a bit more highway ability. But right now i think I'll wait for an update with some of the gremlins sorted out. The side stand is a banana skin they created for themselves... They went all ride by wire but couldn't sort out a cruise control or an anti stall?
@exeterriderАй бұрын
I don't think it has the power for cruise tbh. I quite like the ride by wire, but it has its downsides. 👍

Someone always falls off on your ABR videos, does this happen a lot? Have you ever fallen off there?🤔 If the 450 had 80/20 off road tyres on it, would you take it up Angel Steps? 😱
@ExeterCenturionАй бұрын
He curses us 😂😂😂😂😂
@exeterriderАй бұрын
I'll take anything up Angel steps, but yes ,knobbly would be a big help, and on a wet day it could be real dicey up there on stock tyres. Not fallen off up there yet, And I'm in no rush to fall off up there lol....I only ride to what I think is 60% of my ability on those trails, anything more I'd be pushing my own boundries too much I think and liable to whoopsie!.

if it stalls so easy , but has a quick pick up and shoots off down the track - then this maybe because it has a light flywheel , that sidestand is a joke ;; would cost nothing to fix ;; whats wrong with these people ??
