Evening Colin was out for 3 hours this evening myself Fougerses castle via everywhere on the way there and back, been hot here all day, still 23c now 🥵 complete lack of traffic here to, very quiet Sunday, wurzels from my neck of the woods in the uk lol, shame about the holiday mate, but it probably wouldn’t be much fun for the wounded soldier, always next year, your fishing trip, think I would take the big blow up one, so when you have to get up at the crack of dawn aching all over you will have room to move about 😂 Considered an open pipe but so may people say the noise is irritating, love the chuff the classic makes, nice ride mate pretty destination where’s yer rods 😂 ….. Thanks for the video. I have taken a tank off many times but not on a fuel injected bike, so there were no electrical connections and no fuel return feed, so this was useful. I need the tank off to fit the FuelX system.

I fitted Hunter shocks too my Meteor, that back jarring shock has completely gone. Fitted a gear linkage upgrade kit as well. Now I have a perfect gear change. Glyn Owen introduced me to the idea.

lol morning Colin it s called “I’m going for a ride around the block” in our house 🤣🤣🤣🤣 glad your daughters getting it sorted, keyhole surgery leaves tiny scars to, so we hope it goes well and she can walk without that trepidation of pain, I’ve had both knees done one twice and you can barely see the scars 😊. When you get some more km up mate my rear shocks smoothed out a lot on compression and rebound, I have a far more compliant ride now than when new, I’m coming up 8000km, I’m impressed with the bouncy bits considering the cost of the bike, Sundays here was lovely went for a ride to pointe du Roc the Granville version of point du Hoc, German bunker system on shore Battery with bits of the guns on display nice in the sunshine, 🤣🤣🤣🤣 yeah you generally get a lot of french campers in France mate 😳 made me lol, air de camping car can be free or a nominal fee (€5) or one with services €10-16 forward thinking in my opinion small fee for 24h come and shop and eat in the resturants brilliant system I think there are more than 4000 of them in France. Sarah and I use to love the roadside Frites stops when touring over her in the 80s 90s and early 20s but now they are few and far between 😢 I think the hygiene issue saw their demise, funny that film and photos just don’t show the true colour, Sunday the sea was a magnificent colour in Mont st Michel bay with the sun on it took a photo and colour just looked grey 🙁 good ride mate enjoyed that …. Hi I had same problem, if rev counter stops working its the left cdi unit or right one if rev counter works. You can fix it by cutting plastic back off cleaning black stuff off circuit board then re solder all the joints, in particular the ones to the pin connectors.

Been lovely here all day so far was out doing a shop on the Vespa this morning, we had a few drops of rain 20 mins ago but stopped in a couple of mins, just been polishing the bling on the van 🤣 no doubt we will get what you have this evening.😢…. Pete

Hi Colin, I threw out a rack which came off a Bullet electra-X I had a few years ago. I doubt it would fit a meteor, but it was original and weighed a ton. I am with you on buying from India. Some motorcycle suppliers are asking the earth. My Himalayan has a Chinese adventure top box, £75. Temu brake reservoir cage, £3 Temu. Chinese qualdlock about £5. Seat cushion £8 Temu and I ride with my Lidl flip front helmet and 30 year old leather jacket and cadet boots which were £20 from India. The last oil filters I bought were 5 for £15 delivered from India with seals, O rings and gaskets. Riding with quality does not have to cost the earth. The weather here has also been attrocious the past week but getting out on both bikes each week. Take care

I just put a 36T rear on my scram last week and the difference is amazing. Totally changed the bike for the better in my opinion. Speeds here in Texas are fast and I can keep up with MOST traffic now without feeling like the piston is going to fly out the top of the engine… Only difference around town is that I don’t have to shift gears so much… Very happy with the results

Nice sturdy rack mate, will suite the meteor will you fit a new box or transfer the Himmie one between the 2, raining here most of the afternoon, it’s pants 🙁 dried up for a short while so we we started to fit some tailored seat covers to the camper van right at the tricky bit of fitting the elasticated straps under the seats a Wollop down it comes 🤬🤬🤬🤬 brilliant, as you have to stand outside with your head in the footwell trying to hook little hooks over fat pipes under the seat 🥵 I’m wet but seats look good. …. Great run on the Transalp. I ain’t been out. Think I got infection in my right eye, plus been a little dizzy, from the sun, on the 195 miles I did on Sunday past and affects off the hot sun! Silly boy.😅 Enjoy your trip away. I remember seeing the standing stones at Carnac.😊

Morning Colin, like you avoid cities wherever possible luckily in France most cities have a autoroute going straight through them although most I have visited here are stunning 🥴 architecturally, I think because like you I was born in the city and scarred us for life, in my case the smoke. YES mate be very afraid of them hornets in the helmet, that one that went up my jeans leg and stung me, still have the lump from last summer, bloody painful and my leg swelled and went black 😬 the Docs here take them very seriously,they put me on a ecg and scanned the lump to see the direction of the poison, he told me very dangerous in France, Sarah and I liked Quimperle, as cities go… have a great time with your mate…. I'm impressed Colin. Its been forty years since I changed my own car tyres and it was a killer. That bead breaker seems excellent, The last one I used was a home made slide hammer that weighed more than the car. I like the idea of using window spray as soap can rot the rims. Decent tyre irons are a must and yours seem excellent. Thanks for posting

I think what your trying to say is mate, they all look the same, no character, the RE range is chock full of character, if you have any knowledge of motorcycles you would have no problem identifying a meteor, classic, Himmie, and definitely the new shotgun as, they look like nothing else on the road. I know what you mean mate only on the autoroute do I feel just 10-15kph an hour will make all the difference, went out at 0930 this morning 27c on the Vespa, bit naughty only Tee and jeans, as very warm so pottered around to our closest supermache picking up bits we needed, they all look like they have been looted over the weekend lots of empty shelves and staff restocking as quick as possible, this seems to be the theme here now during the holiday season, can’t believe you had rain 😳 a few tech probs but still a good ride mate. …..Pete🇫🇷
