Until the Interceptor, my last new bike was 20 years ago (a Harley Davidson): I washed it with car shampoo & dried it with what I thought was a clean chamois leather, which somehow left it with fine scratches on the chrome & paintwork. So thanks to your cleaning & detailing videos, I've invested in the products you recommend and hopefully, my Interceptor will not suffer the same fate: after 1400 miles in six months (mostly dry weather), it needs its first thorough clean before the winter.

Great call on the Bilt Hamber wax - I've purchased some based on your recommendation and have to say it's the best wax I've ever used. One of their other products I swear by is Surfex HD - an environmentally friendly degreasing solution. Well worth trying out - I discovered it after seeing it demonstrated on another KZbin channel and have found it unbelievably good.

Hello Stuart, I just wanted to say a big Thank you. Having adopted the cleaning and protection process as shown on your videos for both the T120 and interceptor 650, I think I can safely say what a massive difference it makes to maintaining and actually improving the appearance of my Interceptor 650. Having returned from holiday at the coast, I was not sure what to expect from the occasional outbreak of salty rain and general road muck covering the bike, but to my relief after a time limited, quick but as thorough as time allowed spruce up, all was fine!!. Muck simply washed off. The side cases still shine, paint is good, wheels are clean, no salt damage was visible anywhere. Phew! Proper cleaning and protection and RE improved ' build quality' = a happy owner. Cheers Keith

Works great. Even if you don’t have the exact stuff. I used a spray called SC1. After 600 plus miles including 200 miles in a row in one ride on wet pavement. It just shrugged off all the bugs from the mirrors and headlamp with just a rinse for the most part. Bike was barely dirty. Washed up in 15 minutes with the no touch method. No, it wasn’t on the dirt bike this time. Interceptor is looking sharp. Although I am eyeing a couple different saddle options and the bar end mirrors. Neither are really that important though. So maybe after the season.

I've used that Bilt Hamber polish on my motorhome. It is excellent: I only have to do the motorhome once a year. It is easier to apply and polish than any other product I know of, and moreover you use less of it, so the apparently small tin lasts for ages. Now I'll be using it on my Intereceptor . . . . . .

Another excellent video Stuart with superb product reviews with the added benefit of Fillingham application techniques and tips 😀 I can’t believe some folk have criticised you for making the videos too long, I for one find them a great source of information and never too long. I adopted the ‘Full Fillingham’ method for cleaning my bike when I saw your first video on the subject, what was that, couple of years ago now? My only criticism would be why didn’t you tell me about this method 40 years ago, you would have saved me countless hours on my hands and knees armed with bucket of water, sponge, toothbrush, cloth, autosol and whatever car wax my father had laying about his garage 😂

It is indeed a Great video, I have had my orange crush for a year now and have just had my 10,000 k service, but sadly despite following your school of instruction with both procedure and exactly the same products. The dealer has had to take photos and has sent them to Royal Enfield as the bike has a concerning amount of corrosion . I am in a dry, hot climate, with roads that are not salted and yet rear shocks , engine casing bolts, clutch linkage even down to the speedo drive screw along with the EFI metal fittings are corroded . Shame really, as the bike has been an absolute Gem. I hasten to add although garaged, it has never been parked wet nor is there humidity present. My 65 aluminium panelled and steel chassis Land rover, which it´s parked along side, has less corrosion , which is also never garaged wet or muddy. RE are to replace the mirrors under warranty as black patches are appearing around the edging of the mirror lens.

Good vid Stuart, along with last week's. My Inter arrived last weekend so it is well timed advice. Gave it a good wax when it arrived, although the dealer had not made too bad a job of it. We've got really hard water down here, so I tend to use a bike dryer and then buff it off before the limescale drying marks appear. Thanks for the advice in the vid. Always something to learn.

Thanks again buddy, your work is very much appreciated!

Hi Stuart, another good video and nice to see you've discovered Bilt- Hamber. Their products are superb and I've been using them for a few years now. I would like to recommend Auto Balm, it is superb, and is my no 1 product for my T120. I did a short review several years ago for use on my XJR 1300 (now gone) and it's still there on the site. This stuff has tremendous anti corrosion properties (even if it stinks a bit!) I tend to use this and Double Speed Wax and sometimes for quickness, Hydra Wax which is also superb. Anyway, good to see a British company with products made in this country. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Another exellent video, I must admit, I use Autoglym polish, Belgom Alu on my alloy bits and ACF 50 where you use Pro Prep, have you tried any of those products yourself? Great video, thank you.
@stuartfillingham5 жыл бұрын
depends which autoglym polish you use Anthony. the super resin is abrasive and will eventually remove the clear coat it also has virtually no protective abilities. I dont have any recent experience of their waxes. not a fan of ACF50. its too expensive and messy for my tastes and gives little more protection than most oil based maintenance sprays.
@anthonyprice55965 жыл бұрын
@@stuartfillingham Hello again Stuart, I really never knew the Autoglym polish had a cutting element, that's not on my list any longer thank you, I had always assumed ACF 50 to be a corrosion protector because it was for the Aero industry?? I must admit, before I used that I used to use silicone spray for my bits to difficult to get to. I used to work in the Restoration business, now do smart repairs mobile, but at the restoration company we used to use a a wax that came in a plain 5 litre can, my boss swore by it, and the cars always looked wonderful, but all I knew was it was karnuba based, in a white 5 litre can. And as the one you showed it never went white, just a haze before buffing off. I'm always waiting for your next video, thank you for letting me know about Autoglym. Your videos are so reminiscent of "out of town" reminds me of a better time, when people had respect, and motorcycles were transport not toys and you could fix your car, without need for diagnostic tools!!!
@stuartfillingham5 жыл бұрын
@@anthonyprice5596 Yes that white powder that gets every where when you buff it off is carbide powder, it should only be used to revive tired paintwork perhaps once a year at most, which is why its popular with the used car trade. just stick to a good carnauba wax!
