I’ve been using throttle-by-wire bikes for years and I love it. Never had an issue.

Good review on the off-road use, with the correct tyres for that task. Obviously this more nobbly tyre than the OE Ceat units, with the lower temperature, restricted a road test to some extent. Bike definitely gets better with mileage after first service and then 1200 miles with the 6k rev limit before full engine use. Can't say there is a problem for me with engine vibrations after 800 miles and many owners do advise it does need more miles before it reduces even more. Very happy with my new bike, fit, finish and for the cost I see this as a great second machine for me.

Reviews can be critical about functionality of the ABS switch and how its state is not being memorized between motorcycle restarts. This is not something that Royal Enfield or any other manufacturer can fix. EU regulations mandate ABS for every motorcycle above 125cc. Therefore, the ABS by default must be switched on. I had a Honda Africa Twin and the ABS switch works exactly the same. However, it is a physical switch, which is good. I don't want to go through the menu to deactivate ABS. Royal Enfield did what must be done with an additional feature of mechanical ABS switch and that's something positive. Regarding the dashboard, I don't like noticeable flicker it produces on motovloging cameras. Otherwise, the dashboard looks fine to me. Thanks for the great review!

Ride by wire is made for the hymalajan. You can drive it from the sea to the top of a montain. To ensure that, you need to adjust the fuel-air-ratio on the way to the top of the world. Also the "abs on"-on start is just a safety feature. As well as switching only while standing. You need to remind yourself: It's made for the unexperienced user imaginable, not for the experienced one. I like this bike, because i forget the bike while driving and i have all my mind to focus on the way.

I totally agree with you, ride by wire is ridiculous on off-road machines. The more electronics, the less appealing for me.

in mexico a Tenere 700 cost almost 3 times what the himalayan cost. I owned the 411 and now I have a 450, it is better in every way, I hope the engine will be reliable. it’s like a modern klr. regards!

Yep - when I saw the numbers, the geometry and the setup, I was excited about it. But when I learned about the rider modes and throttle by wire, I lost most any enthusiasm I'd had, cause I immediately understood that Royal Enfield's lost the plot.. Wonder if they'll get the message with this one, or if their future bikes are going to go further and further down the electronics up the wazoo rabbit hole. I mean, maybe it works out for them as a business decision, but it sure isn't what I'm looking for in a motorcycle. A car maybe, but not a bike.

RE Himalayan is the Evolution from the first version, they lissend Clients feedback and deliver. There are view Drag Race Videos that show the new Himalayan pull in the begin away from the Interceptor but later the Inter650 it catch up. I drove the new Himalayan too and i was supriced how well suite it. I must say that i had the old Himalayan too so i can copare it well. RE deliverd a very good bike that is a strong competitor for all 450 engine outside.

Overrated, weak bike IMHO. Also the single cylinder these days is a no-no due to vibrations

Single-cylinder isn't the issue, modern ones perform well. The real drawback is the near 200kg weight

Less weight costs more but it's within financial reach to a larger majority of riders wanting to taste some off-road conditions plus destinations they've been dreaming of. Excellent review Miles on a very tempting bike 🐫
