I remember it like that too. People who weren't in the market for a sports car suddenly wanted this one. I asked a Miata owner if the car was rear wheel drive. He said yes. I decided then and there that I would get one. The same thing happened for me with the RE Interceptor 650. I had vaguely thought it would be nice to have an older British bike again. But the shift is the wrong way around (unsafe reactions) and my knee doc would prefer I stop kicking motorcycles. Then the reviews were so positive I couldn't resist.

Sales numbers might sound a lot in India but this is not even in top 30 most selling bikes. Reason is people over here buy bikes as a main means of commute. Most of the people buy bikes between 100 to 150 cc engine which is priced from less than 1000 USD. CHEER'S ! I survived the 60's and always loved the look and sound of the British bikes. I rode a little suzuki smoker. LOL Later in the late 70's I worked with some guys who had bikes. I wasn't man enough to kick start my friends Norton 750 Commando but I never stopped liking the sound. I rode bikes all my life and finally gave them up a few years ago. Your review on this bike along with others has gotten the juices flowing again.... I might just do something stupid... It's affordable and I live at the base of the Rocky Mountains. I can see myself going for a nice cool ride after mowing my lawn. It won't take up that much space in the garage. Did I mention that sound. Maybe I should order some S&S can's now! hehehe The demo's aren't even due here in Denver for a couple month's. I've owned two Harleys and done the Sturgis thing. They are over priced and to problematic but have the sound I like. I like the idea of a cheap retro that has the right look, feel and sound. My friends will call it a girly bike but I'm at the age where I don't care and I prefer to ride alone at my own pace. Nice to stop and chat at the Mountain town coffee shops. I watched this vid before I went to bed last night. My face began to hurt and then I realized I had this big stupid smile on my face daydreaming about carving the canyons again. Retirement is good. Don't have to ride with the weekend crowd. LOL Thanks for sharing the review. I am looking forward to seeing what you end up with and what you change. Your ridding a Royal Enfield in the Homeland Mister. Get one and enjoy it. If you tire of it I'm sure you won't have trouble selling it.

I don't mind the rear mudguard/lights as you say it represents the bygone era. However if you open the seat you can unscrew the rear mudguard and it's very easy to add a standard tail tidy. It's a bike designed to be personalised without too much costs. The mudguards can be shortened by undoing a couple of screws. I understand there is a scrambler version for next year.

One big goodie with this bike is no canbus! Yes, really easy to customize! Take a look at TEC, they make some goodies for this one. Good review mr Fish. I subbed!

I AM GOING TO BUY ONE! But not until a good touring windshield, a decent set of saddle bags, and wheels that will run tubeless tires are all available.

The engine smoothly lumps along? BTW, I grew up with motorcycles looking like that. And yeah, they're still my favorite sort. ( I still remember when a 750cc was as large an engine as you could get. ) ( Yeah, I'm old. Dammit. )

I think they'll sell a few of those at £5,500. It might make Triumph twitch a bit with their retros 😮

I'm with you on this, those considering a Triumph T120 should take an Interceptor out for a test ride first. p.s. ofc, I meant T100 & not T120... OOPS!!!

I don't think so somehow, Triumph ain't chasing the budget market. Your average Triumph retro buyer is looking for major experience & kudos. This bike is about as exciting as a wet blanket. Honestly, when you look at it do you really say "I have to have that bike"! (and I like retro) No doubt it will sell but Im not sure they will shift a shed load in the UK?
@wildnfrantic10155 жыл бұрын
Triumph vastly overpriced now and for me personally, their build quality is questionable

@@sgtgrash5280 - forget the money for a bit, you think this 650cc is going to compete on wow factor compared to a 1200cc? These two bikes are addressing totally different markets.

Excellent review! Knowing your love of the CB500X...and as a fella with similar size and stature, which would you park in your garage? You recently did a review of the 2019 CBX...which was also well done. Stay safe!

If you're cold then warm your hands the old way; put them on the cylinder head :) The bike sounds like an old Bonnie 750. If I had the cash I'd buy one; problem is I'm a bit old and stupid these days so I'd probably have a mad half hour once a year
