There's bikes costing over 24 grand and then there's bikes like this costing buttons. We don't all want to cross continent's on a bike with more tec than a jet fighter or on a bike with your head down and bum in the air, some people just want to potter. It does you credit that you can see the benefits of all these different bikes, super video Kate.

After a life of bikes, mainly large capacity, I went to try a big Honda NT1100 couple of years ago. . Took out a Scram and an Interceptor to see what all the fuss was about. Came back and traded my Z900RS in for the two REs. After about 100 yards on the Scram I did nearly turn back to the dealer in disappointment, but I took advantage of the test ride and by return was totally sold on what is probably the second best bike I've ever owned. Interested in your top speed tests. When I first got mine 65mph (indicated) seemed like the sound barrier. A few thousand on the clock and and it now hums easily to 65-70mph. I'd feel unsympathetic taking it much further although it doesn't baulk at 70mph on the clock now. I think - and the Interceptor is the same (but faster!) -REs are very tight out of the factory and really need to run in and bed in. I adore the Scram, but it's hard to pin down why.

I Have a 2023 Scram 411 and after 1500 miles the bike is starting to loosen up and run a little better. I recomend bleeding the front brake because there can be some air int the ABS valve. After bleeding my brakes, the front brke was much better. The bikes are built heavy duty and with just a few tube and KZbin you can do the maintenance your self. The engine is a little more noisy because it’s aircooled and has no cooling jacket on the cylinder. After the first service and break in miles, hop on it and ride it like you stole it. It dosn’t care.

The last bike that I owned that produced this claimed level of power was an old Honda CB250RSD. It was great for the odd motorway blat and fine for city commuting. Handling was terrible with a frame that flexed like a cat in custard. I can't ride now following a rake of surgeries over the last few years but if I could I'd give this bike a serious look. Maybe sometime in the future who knows what will be around. I love the reviews of bikes that have made so much of my life.

Definitely a great value for the coins. As long as you stay within its capabilities. I'm an expat living in the Philippines and it would be great here. Anything over 400 cc's doesn't really make sense here. There are no high speed highways here. There are lots of trails and the roads are certainly rough in some places. I could see owning the 411. If a 450 version is released, the 411s will be a bargain price

I got one in the same spec Graphite red and I love it. It's so much fun to ride on A & B roads. It's not built for M-ways, but you can do it if you really need too. Like some others have mentioned, once it's run in at about 1200 miles + it really starts to loosen up and yeah you can get to 70, but that's not where the fun is. Around 40- 60 which is about as much as you can do on most roads in the UK, it's perfect.

Some of the comments are hilarious. If you reviewed a van they'd say I'd rather have a convertible, and if you tested a boat they would insist a microlight is better. When my wife asks what sort of cheese to put in the shopping trolley I'll tell her any cream cake with a cherry on top.

Thoroughly enjoyed watching this review. Smaller cc bikes imo are a breath of fresh air, i can see me trading my Speed Triple in one day for something like this Scram, if only it had cast wheels tho, making roadside puncture repairs fixable with a plug and pump kit. Does anyone know the general state of Royal Enfield spares in this country? I hear through the grapevine that people are waiting weeks for parts to be replaced on their bikes that are sat in dealers workshops. Is this any worse than it is for other makes?

They are a good value bike at the discounted price and the model you are on is only £3699!. The only problem is you go to kd motorcycle's where numerous discounted Re's are advertised and find they only have 1 brand new royal Enfield in the whole of the shop,and that's a shotgun!. I know the bikes exist in a warehouse but I'm sure they would sell their stock of them alot quicker if they were actually at the showroom's for potential customers to sit on and look at before making your mind up to buy them!

Like the scram, especially at the reduced price. Same price as Voge 300 but I still think I would choose the Voge as I'm looking for a light greenlaner. KD Motorcycles do both bikes ofcourse so can compare in the showroom (don't know if they have demonstrators for both?🤔).

They are updating this air/oil cooled engine to a 440 version (*not* the 450 water cooled Sherpa engine) and bringing out a scram 440, probably within the year. Apparently it makes more like 28hp rather than 24hp on this one, but with mods you could probably push it over 30 BHP, so better on the motorways. You can get 477cc big bore kit for the current Scram 411, which with other mods takes the engine to 34 BHP (rear wheel horsepower from 20 to 30!). There are even 500cc big bore kits that push it up to 38BHP, but this requires boring the engine casing out 2mm to work. The Scram 440 will be a cheaper alternative to the upcoming 450 scrambler with the new water cooled Sherpa engine (called the "Guerilla", probably to not confuse it with the Scram 440) which is making more like 40 BHP. If that wasn't enough, RE are also working on scramblers on the 350cc and 650cc platforms as well.

Being able to get away fast if the vehicle behind you gets too close is worth changing the oil more often. And the clutch on this thing is dirt cheap.

Better in which way? More complicated, more expensive and likely will blend in with all the KLR-like bikes if which there are dime a dozen and they all look more or less the same.. The scram 411 has that old school, low tech, real motorcycle type of a vibe
@gk73man516 ай бұрын
@@VLK-73 I get that but as a platform it simply isn’t very good. They make around 18bhp at the wheel and are quite heavy for a utilitarian single cylinder bike.
