Save your old toothbrushes and put them in your toolbox. Use them to clean your brake cylinders or other fine mechanisms. Love from Eugene Oregon.

Hi Teacher T. Wow didn't you, and everyone who watches your channel receive some excellent advice from around the world? Great advice everyone 🤘. I on the other hand cheated. I picked my 650 Royal Enfield Super Meteor up this morning from my favourite bike shop. As a new Dunlop series 2 front tyre was being fitted, I asked for the front caliper to be serviced at the same time. During the service they found a dry front axle. No problems found but the front caliper was cleaned and greased using ceramasil, along with the front axle being greased on assembly. And the price, £196.72p. They even lubed the rear chain while they were at it! Can't give you advice on the next tyre yet, but as soon as it warms up and I shake this bug I will let you know how it feels compared to the stock tyre. So in the meantime time, best wishes to you and your family and see you in the next one - safe riding till then sir👃😊...

Sounds like they couldn’t undo those front calliper bolts either and also decided to take the front wheel off like I did to service the calliper. Glad you are all sorted. Yes the community and advice we can share is growing every day 👌🙏

As far as I know they removed the caliper when they removed the front wheel to change the tyre.

"H H" designates 'sintered' pads, which are heat impregnated metallic pads. My KTM 390 Adventure front brake was pulsing, most noticeably from 5 mph to stopped. I cleaned the rotors and compared sintered vs. non-metalic pads. Using non-metalic pads, the brake pulsing stopped, but the non-metalic pads require a little more squeezing pressure, compared to the sintered pads.
@Teacher-T-Thailand11 күн бұрын
I’m certainly looking forward to comparing the organic and singe red pads in a video 🙏
@discoveror957611 күн бұрын
@@Teacher-T-Thailand I suspect that you'll find the non--metallic pads to be smoother (less grabby), but simply require a bit more squeeze for similar braking force. Sintered pads feel more immediately positive - for high performance use, but offer less gradual brake feel.

Sir: Thanks for the great content. Three years ago, I bought a black 2022 Meteor 350. I had not ridden since the late '70s. I had a 73 Honda CL450 back then. I REALLY loved the Meteor 350. I added a luggage rack and a toe-only shifter. I rode the bike from NY State to Seattle WA on the West Coast. It performed very well. The 5 speed necessitated downshifts to get up the mountains out West, but she was a great bike. I named her Calibre .303 as that was what the Enfield Rifle fired. When I learned of the Super Meteor 650 I went for a test ride. I traded the 350 for a 650 which I think they call grey, though it looks black to me. I have added a Hepco and Becker luggage rack and I have the H&B engine guards yet to be installed. I rode the 650 down South to South Carolina and back last summer and it is fantastic. I will swap the shocks for the Hagons based on your experience. Maybe next year I will do the belt drive conversion. I will wait on the GPS/camera set up to see how yours holds up. I am skeptical of Chinese electronics which are low priced as I bought a USB plug which mounted to the handlebar and plugged in to the battery charge plug. I fished the wire all the way up to the handlebar and plugged it in and it was junk and did not work. Thinking about mounting some accessory lights on the engine guards for added visibility. You mentioned the "ugly" hole on the frame. I bought some stainless steel eyebolts that fit right in the holes and use them to secure luggage which I pack behind me on the pillion seat. Speaking of securing loads, I noticed that my bike has only one handle which I use to put it on the center stand. There is NOT one on the right hand side of the bike. I will address this with my dealer once the snow melts and the salt road salt is COMPLETELY washed from the roads. Again, thank you for the excellent content and I will follow your entries with great interest.

Looks like you had the same Royal Enfield Journey as myself. I started on the Meteor 350. Absolutely loved it. Bus as you, I needed a bit more power for the steep mountain roads. Don’t write off everything made in China. Apple iPhones are Meade I. China. I recommend fitting the Meteor 350 handlebar charger to the 650. It plugs straight into the headlight. Works very well. Here is my video on the subject just in case you missed it 😂👌🙏 Meteor 650:- How to Install Meteor 350 USB to SM650 kzbin.info/www/bejne/gnLZkqKBetimh7s

Hi Teach, the secret to longer life in pads is, to roll of the throttle before you get to the corner. Also more rear brake when riding with Mrs.T to stop you getting helmet butted in the back of your head. 🤭
@Teacher-T-Thailand11 күн бұрын
Sure. The engine braking is so good on the Meteor I must admit. And to be honest even better with the belt drive as there is no slack like a chain. Never had a head but from Mrs T accelerating or engine braking since we’ve had the belt drive 😂👌🙏

Thanks for the very informative video again! Also thanks for explaining about the difference in usage of the front and rear brakes. I always learned about the 70/30% rule in favour of the front brake. So I was a little confused when looking at your previous video, but luckily you corrected that and you did so on a very pleasant and informative way! Respect! ✊

Ha ha thanks. I’m just in shock I’ve been doing it wrong all these years. But on dry dusty gravely roads, or wet slippy roads I know I’ll still be hesitant to use that front brake 😂🙏
@yellr6811 күн бұрын
@@Teacher-T-Thailand yes indeed, on dirty or gravely roads you have to adept you braking according to the circumstances of course. But in a straight line on a paved round as we have here in Europe, the difference is really amazing. Just try it and you will be amazed how quick you will stop when using the 70/30 method! In the beginning it feels a bit unnatural to do so, once you have overcome your fear, it’s really assuring to know how it helps you to make a quick stop if necessary 😏👍

Thanks Teacher T for another great vlogg . I have always used my front brake more than my back on my past bikes but especially on my SM 650 as I feel the rear brake alone is no where near strong enough to stop the bike. Looking forward to the third vlogg on changing the front pads. Ride safe 😊

I suppose to be honest I use my brakes as little as I can. The engine braking on the Meteor is very good. I tend to use the rear more as approaching junctions at low speed, as they are normally gravely and slippery here. 🙏
