Halo rings. Queen Mary had a double sapphire halo ring. It is not believed to be her engagement ring. No one is sure which ring that was but she had ben married for some time when she started wearing it. I thought it was interesting as it looked like Diana's ring doubled side by side but on a much smaller scale. More the size of Diana's sapphire and diamond earrings, but slightly larger. I would guess the sapphires were around 2 to 3 carats ach with close to a carat of smaller diamonds surrounding each sapphire. Of course, both were probably fashioned to look like queen Victoria's wedding brooch she wore on her wedding day that we often saw Queen Elizabeth wear. the ruby ring show as Princess Margaret's engagement ring shown here was not her engagement ring. She had that made after her marriage from some rubies Queen Elizabeth gave her. Her engagement was a single ruby done in an art deco style design of platinum leaves with tiny diamonds glistening in them. Armstong Jones was not wealthy, so he designed a ruby "rose" with the leaves with diamonds to have sentimental meaning for her. I actually love her engagement ring best even if it was not as valuable.

and I want to know who owned that emerald cut diamond ring surrounded by sapphire baguettes. I have an emerald cut aquamarine ring surrounded by sapphire baguettes with 2 small (like 5 points) diamond princess cut stones on each side. It came from Ross Simons and was for my 45th wedding anniversary. Lol now i know it was copied from a royal ring. I did not know that before. I just thought it was pretty so my husband bought it for me. I also have a ruby halo ring It is a Burmese ruby but the diamonds surrounding it are much smaller and is more white gold than diamond. Only 20 points of diamonds total. that was my 30th. Lol and I have a copy of the Diana/Kate ring but lol the "diamonds" are white topaz and sapphire is a doublet, a very thin sapphire sheet topped with quartz. It actually has a purple cast as the quartz must have been pale clear amethyst. Lol it is in silver, but rhodium plated. QVC sold it and I don't wear it. It is more a Diana souvenir. The reason I wanted the aquamarine ring was because of Diana's divorce ring she wore a few times that last year before she died. I was a big Diana fan.
