Carat, not carate. Actually, the sapphire brooch of Queen Victoria was given the night before the wedding and was one of the few pieces of jewelry Prince Albert inherited from his family. Rumor has it that it belonged to his mother who he lost when he was young. His father threw her out after she had an affair. That is one reason that Albert was very determined to elevate the morality of the British royal family. Albert also designed another sapphire brooch for Victoria after the birth of one of their children. That is where the confusion is. The one she wore at her wedding was from Saxe-Coberg, and not designed by Garrards. The two are very similar, which was intentional, as he expected that one would be passed to the Princess Royal, Vicki, at her mother's death. That didn't happen because Victoria did not want to let either go because of their connections to Albert. I believe both are a part of the Royal Jewelry Trust where they are reserved for the use of the king or queen or whoever they would like to lend them to, and not personal jewelry actually owned by the Royals. That is similar to how many of the royal tiaras are...not personally owned but lent to female members of the Royal family.

Hi sweeties, Mine is not so expensive but I like it much more!!!! Why? Cause in the days we got engaged he could not affort much so it was a very simple ring. Many years later I saw 'THE' ring in a store in our village, I was in love with that ring haha but it was not cheap!! Every time we or I went past the store I had to take a peek and my husband saw that. I taught: "we can never affort such a ring!!". One day, again we were looking at my dream-ring and it was gone!! I was extremely sad but my husband wanted to go inside to ask if the had a ring like that (maybe a bit cheaper was what he said). But the lady of the shop came with THE ring!!! She put in on my finger and it fitted perfectly!! I felt so sad cause, like I said I taught we could not buy such a ring!! Suddenly the lady of the shop and my husband started to laugh, he already paid for the ring! So you can understand that THAT ring is the most beautiful ring in the whole wide world to me!! Dreams sometimes come true, sweeties!! Keep dreaming! Love from an old rebel-Pinkie BTW: your pronounciation of 'toi et moi' is very wrong!! toi et moi = French! And this is how you pronounce it: [twa ee mwa], to put a 'I'/'Y' at the end!! Please next time look it up (phonetic)!!!!

Why talk about rings if you're not going to show them?

They do show them briefly.

I think most of the main facts are accurate, although I can't swear to them. I know there were a few inaccuracies in Diana's ring story, and of course the values of the rings don't include their provenance, just an estimate based on the cost of the stones and metals.

Colors of the Denmark flag, connections to the Danish people, born in Australia. I am so confused. I have so many questions.
@MSjackiesaunders3 ай бұрын
Queen Mary was originally from Australia. She met King Frederich in Australia and didn't know who he really was until he proposed. The Danish flag is red and white (hence the colors of the ring). Before they got married, she studied very hard to learn Swedish and the history of the family she was marrying into. She became beloved by the Swedish people for her readiness to put Sweden first. Does that answer your main questions? There's a very good KZbin video about her, with interviews from her and her mother-in-law, the retired queen of Sweden. I think it is primarily about some of the Swedish crown jewels, but has a lot of information about Mary.

It was so vile of Charles to give Camilla his late Grandmother's engagement ring. He knew, as did the whole world, that the Queen Mum despised Camilla. But then, Charles has always been known to be cheap and stingy, so his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, allowed her whining son to recycle his Grandmother's ring. Horrid.
@María.M.W.MАй бұрын
More vil is your comment, specially because it is not your bussiness. The Queen Mother borrowed her house for Charles and Camila, she gave Charles the ring for Camila. That is old information. And the most important, the Queen Mother didn"t like Diana, because she knew that Diana slept with her lovers in her children's house. Also the stingy Charles payed by the Hewit's gifts and the other gifts for Diana's lovers 😂😂

It is tradition in the Royal family to pass down their rings to their sons to give as engagement rings. William gave Catherine Princess Diana‘s ring for example. Sometimes they have them redesigned but still use all the stones, absolutely normal practice. It isn’t correct that the mother hated Camilla. Not sure what your point is.
