In the early hours of the morning Aussie time the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had their bios updated on the Royal Family Website. In this video we celebrate the positive aspects of these changes but lament the fact that the Royal Family website now links to Sussex.com!

Harry is still the King’s son and a royal family member, even if he’s no longer welcome, so I don’t think that will ever happen. The children, well that really does need clearing up and should have been proven or disproven five years ago. But, don’t despair about the titles, Harry and Meghan are obviously in splitsville mode whether they make it public or not and when it does become public America will laugh at Meghan no end if she tries to use any royal title in America. It’s only tolerated now because she is married to a British Prince/Duke, it won’t last when she and he are no longer connected.

Sarah Ferguson was allowed to retain the Duchess title by the Late Queen Ell and she was encouraged to remain the same residence to bring up her 2 young daughters. My opinion is that Harry's That One was escorted out of UK from the theatre where she supposedly had a meeting by the Wise Queen cancelled it without her knowledge. I think it shows the class that King Charles has as king and the love he has as a father. Harry and Meghan's bios are VERY small (especially compared to William and Catherine), and as you go into it, you see that they definitely make it obvious that the twosome are no longer representing the royal family in any way. I commend the royal family for being classy. I think the object is to make others aware that Harry and Meghan are no longer doing any work for the King, the Commonwealth or the monarchy so that Harry and Meghan cannot continue to be pseudo royals, going to other countries pretending to be doing work on behalf of the monarch, i.e. Whistler Canada, speaking to the first nation Chief. They cannot be remove from the family because as the late Queen Elizabeth II said Harry and Meghan are still much loved members of the family. I believe this is a very hard knock for the couple. I think it's a classy move by the royal family to link the website, there are still people whom are interested.

I presume they’ve kept Harry and Meghan on the site for historical purposes. I like the language used on the site - it’s factual and can’t be argued with but makes clear the pairs’ deceit and hypocrisy. The use of official statements, starting with H&M’s, clearly articulates the family’s position and how H&M initiated it. In short, no one forced them to do anything. I love the changes because it clears up all confusion about security, titles, funding and how they don’t represent the Crown nor will they ever return as working members, protecting the family and monarchy from being used. First Nations leaders through to businesses wanting a Royal association now know where they stand with Harry and Meghan.

That's my take on it Shauna. If people want updates on H and M they should go to their website NOT the RF website ! They are not under those serving the Monarch, just as family members. I think the much reduced, joint bios are sending a message, along with only referring to Harry as Duke of Sussex, and not Prince, that there is now a much wider distance between the two families. Dropping them suddenly from the Royal website, could produce a reaction, that would be difficult to deal with, especially as things have only just calmed down in relation to the Princess of Wales' illness etc. Inching them out bit by bit is the better way, as there will be less opportunity to complain, but it will probably be just as painful. A monarchy that has lasted a thousand years, or thereabouts, can afford to take its time dealing with difficulties. We don't send them to the Tower of London and then the block anymore, you know!!

It never said they were 'serving' the monarch and the Commonwealth. It said they were 'continuing to honour their duty to' them. There is a big, albeit subtle, difference, but as everyone seems to have understood it as meaning 'serving' and/or representing, it really did need to be addressed, so this is good. Similarly, H&M had already been moved down to the bottom of the list, only above Andrew, obviously, but definitely below all the other properly 'working' royals. But to now put them beneath Andrew is a bit of a delicious insult to them, so I'm sure H is steaming. Ideally, they would have created a separate page for the non-working royals and got rid of them altogether. Absolutely great that links have been included to the actual statements confirming Megxit, made by both H&M and BP. At least it does, finally, make it explicitly clear that H&M are not currently working royals. Regarding the link to their own website, I agree it is annoying but on the other hand the RF do always have to do the most civilised thing, leading by example. if H&M breach the terms of what is permissible, in terms of monetising, then I assume the thinking is that that can if necessary be dealt with separately, and privately. Fantastic, overall.

In looking at the photos of the royal family on the Royal Family Website, I found it amusing that everyone looked very proper and sophisticated until you get to the bottom of the page, and there's Harry and Meghan in very casual clothes with leis around their necks like they're at a party. I realize the photo was taken on one of their trips as working royals and it was an official function, but as they say, a picture says a thousands words. I suspect the palace knew what they were doing in selecting which photos to use.
